Today we’d like to introduce you to Seth Grady.
Hi Seth, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Seth Grady also known as “TyeProductionz”. I started music production in 2011 from the influences and pioneers such as: “Lex Luger”, “Southside” “Shawty Redd” & More.
I immediately fell in love and KNEW my passion. I took the money from my job that I was saving and bought equipment such as: Speaker Monitors, a Laptop and a Keyboard. Every day at 6AM, I would wake up to get ready for school I would unplug my speaker, made sure my laptop was in my bag and brought my midi controller to school. I was so obsessed with my passion. It did NOT matter to me the whether outside if it was 10 degrees out with a blizzard of snow or raining ridiculously I made sure I was persistent through everything.
Whenever study hall was happening I would cook up beats and after school, before I went home. It did not matter where I was always making beats and figuring out how to become better although my main priority that is therapeutic and I was having FUN.
Two years into making beats I started to get really good and I reached out to @montanaof300 looking to work together long term, through consistency I received the opportunity to work with “Montana Of 300”. It was my first real placement and also received the feature of “Kevin Gates”, where the record “Goonies” was solidified on Montana of 300’s album “Fire In The Church”.
I have gotten to where I am today from trial and error, no matter what your passion is, no matter how many failures you must be consistent and persistent and have a clear vision of goals.
I have always had goals and never just went with the flow, by doing so this has given me clarity as well as a definite aim.
Through being consistent, I am grateful I have worked with: “Montana Of 300”, “Kevin Gates”, “Rich The Kid”, “Cuban Doll”, “Yung Tory”, “Casanova 2x”, “Kirko Bangz”, “3AMParadise”. As well as producing credits with “The CW Network” and “All American”.
One thing I would love to mention to those reading this is a gem I have mentioned in a PDF I have created for my members that are a part of my memberships and it states:
“I can not stress this enough because in this music industry, it is NOT only what you know, but WHO you know. What you KNOW is preparation to have your work ethic READY for the individuals you need to know”.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The struggles I have faced is of any that an entrepreneur will face, any being that aims to become successful will face obstacles/challenges.
I will tell a specific story that I want you reading this to take and empower you.
I was requested to meet up with an individual that wanted to make music and bring my equipment to have a session and I did, we were going through our session and I had my laptop in the backseat with him and I drop him off and when I get home I go to grab my equipment and my laptop is NOT there. I know he had stolen it, the very next day because he followed me on social media I made a video after immediately waking up stating: “To who has my laptop out there, I am not even tripping about it because the millions are not in that laptop… they are in MY MIND.”
From there I had a couple to few months with no laptop to create music so I picked up a job and then purchased a desktop instead of a laptop and bounced back ten times harder by creating better content, music, and had created more opportunities by networking as well as learning from my situation.
I also was signed to a local record label for two years as a Beat Maker and Engineer, I had managed 5 artists creating all custom beats as well as engineering the records. I was providing more value to the label then I was receiving. For me we had to depart ways, I was told by the owner “If you try to sell any of the beats you made while under our label I will sue you”. Which under contract is standard however I had created so much content I had to start fresh yet again.
From there I elevated and had learned so much from that experience where I become more knowledgeable as well as stayed on a positive path instead of allowing the odds redirect me.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an artist, music producer, and audio engineer.
I specialize in genres and sub-genres such as:
– Hip-Hop (Trap, Rap)
– R&B
– Dance
My niche is “Twerk Beats, R&B, and Detroit-styled beats”. I am highly versatile and can create everything.
I am most proud of getting the opportunity to produce a record that has been aired on “All American”.
Engineer:
What sets me apart from the next is having the ability to hear when recording myself and other artists their vocal range and giving the best harmonies and flows to create the best single/project they are creating.
Music Producer:
For a musical producer, is being able to make people feel and put them in a trance as well as creating something an artist is truly happy with and gives them also the opportunity to truly be creating and experiment outside of their comfort zone where in my experience that is usually where our most successful records come about.
Artist:
And finally as an artist, I can proudly say I do NOT sound like another artist and I have created my own niche for a sound. Where I provide truth and harmonies vocally and a beat that captures the interest of the listener.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
One generalization I have learned about in specific the shutdown that occurred due to covid-19 is, Nothing is definite even if it appears to be so, take care of your health work out 5 times out of the week to build your immune system as well as maintain a healthy diet.
In specifics, I know everyone has their own beliefs and opinions about Covid-19 and it has caused caution and separation. In my opinion even in crisis unity is needed, love is needed, knowledge health and communication as beings is very important a lot of people experienced isolation where they are not used to being inside away from others. Through that time period, I have reflected and used that time to see the pros, cons, and characteristics I wanted to change in my life and have done so.
