Today we’d like to introduce you to Gullie Lamont.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
After signing a deal with one of the most extensive music pub libraries, my music has been featured/synced and licensed in Vh1, BET, Netflix, WEtv, Hulu, ABC, ESPN, Own network, MTV, NBA network, HBOMAX, SHOWTIME, FOX, Lifetime network, and many more; Lamont Duverne (Me) aka Gullie Lamont Founded of AdResst – Rideshare Smart Display Advertising LLC. Advertisement For an Audience that Moves caught the attention of some heavy hitters in the advertising sector. Was it easy? So far from it.
The music was something I’d been working at for years; I literally when to college for it. Music and the Music business, after graduating with honors opened up my own recording studio business, but to be honest, it was for me to record myself. After creating a demand for my skills, the studio took off like a rocket.
I’d always been a creative content creator before that title even existed. Advertising was the first thing I thought of. With a marketing background, I wanted to create a software/device that would display advertisements on a 4k screen in rideshare vehicles, so I did it. Being extremely nice at out-sourcing, I found my software development team, created the framework, pitched the concept it was off to the races.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Music-wise, It’s hard to stand out in the music business, especially when you’re an unsigned artist. The frustration almost causes me to stop, but I choose to never quit regardless. That same energy was applied to my tech start-up AdResst.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I, Gullie Lamont a musician, composer, and tech founder who became signed in the same year I founded my advertising company.
After graduating with honors from college and opening up my own recording studio, started creating music and found that the demand for my skills was high. Like high-high.
I realized that I could combine my love of music with advertising, so I started AdResst—Rideshare Smart Display Advertising LLC.
I combined all of my passions into one: advertisement.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I believe the music industry will continue to change over the next 5-10 years. There are so many different platforms and ways to listen to music now, and I don’t think any one of them will be the clear winner for long.
I think we will see a change in how artists are marketed, though—more of a focus on individualized marketing campaigns that target specific demographics. It’s going to be crucial for artists to understand their audience and how they want to consume their music instead of just trying to get as many plays as possible. The major shift is that AdResst will turn into AdResst Media Group.
