Life & Work with Lisa Cirincione

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Cirincione.

Hi Lisa, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in Hermosa Beach, Los Angeles with a Sicilian father and Jewish mother. I am very connected and proud of both sides of my heritage. I have always been passionate about and attracted to the arts. For me, it’s my life, my heart. I have been acting and singing for as long as I can remember. After college, my work as an Actor and then an English teacher while living in Italy and my journey as an Artist in Residence and Associate Director at The Braid Theatre company helped hone and develop my career as a storyteller and dynamic storytelling coach. This was the beginning of the creation of my company Your Story for Change which provides Dynamic Personal Storytelling and Success Coaching for people around the country and around the world. This work is a culmination of my acting, directing, coaching and activism work. I have the great joy and pleasure of working with people from all over the world. Right now, I have a group of about 50 students in the Ukraine who are working on their skills so they can get refugee status and also survive the war. I have another group of middle eastern women who are highly educated, brilliant recent immigrants in the United States and looking to build their new lives and careers here. Other clients from Central and South America, China, Japan, India, and Belarus, all incredible people who I get to help in creating their dream life.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Honestly, anyone who decides to pursue a career in the arts is going to struggle. The perseverance, the constant push, the ambition it takes that drives us is constant and for me, a source of pride. I love what I do, on camera, on stage, with my clients. I cannot imagine my life without storytelling in all its forms. I am so proud to be an actor, a director, I love the audition process, I love being on set, I love seeing my clients succeed. It is not easy, but for me, there is no other way to live.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a coach, director and actress. With more than 15 joyful years of experience, I help people transform their lives with greater language fluency and mastery in presentation. My unique hybrid of American Accent and Dynamic Storytelling Coaching builds skill and confidence as you learn to deliver your message with power and grace. I am also a very proud member of Pacific Resident Theatre where I received L.A. WEEKLY and L.A. Drama Critic’s Circle nominations for playing the role of Catherine in Arthur Miller’s A View from the Bridge. Most recent on-screen credits include the FOX show 9-1-1,  L.A.’s Finest and the short film Porcupine airing on Direct T.V. whichI both star in and produced. I received her B.F.A. in Acting from the University of Southern California and is an Artist in Residence with The Braid, formerly known as Jewish Women’s Theatre where I both act and direct in shows all over L.A., the Bay Area and NYC.  I am super passionate about languages, learning about different cultures and being a mom to my two babies!

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
