Today we’d like to introduce you to Estefania Iglesias.
Hi Estefania, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was born in Argentina and I started working on TV in Buenos Aires when I was 18 years old. Soon after I got an invitation to join a very prestigious modeling agency in Mexico City, it was a six months contract however I was working so much that I ended it up living there for five years.
I worked for international brands like Avon, Nestle, Coors, La Perla, Bayer, Ocean Spray, Lays to name a few. Then I moved to Milan and Rome in Italy where I continued my career as a high fashion model working for famous designers and brands all over Europe. I traveled for work to more than 20 countries.
One day my agent at the time told me that they were looking for a TV host in Los Angeles so I sent my material and got the job. Since then I worked on Spanish TV and radio in different programs talking about fashion, music, food to breaking news and politics. In my spare time, I do a lot of volunteer work and community work.
Also, I run my own company Latinos in America we specialized in empower Latinos in the US helping them with everything that has to do with their business from their website to be first on Google, how to scale their brand to provide legal advice and how to make smart choices when buying a home.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Getting the word out, letting people know that we as immigrants have rights and we have to use them properly. Education is key, it’s very important to educate our community so people won’t take advantage of them. And also to overcome in life, the American Dream belongs to all of us.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a journalist but before that, I worked as a High Fashion Model in America and Europe. Now I am doing a podcast for Revolver called “Latinas Break” for the working moms in the US taking the wheel on the day-by-day challenges Hispanic women experienced while fulfilling the tasks of being moms, entrepreneurs, heads of household, public figures, influencers, etc. You will surely enjoy hearing the insightful take and funny experiences of revealing stories with no filter.
What are your plans for the future?
Scale Latinos in America across the country. Knowledge is power, we need the Latinos of the United State united, we need to empower and educate our community.
