Hidden Gems: Meet Sarah Lea of Heel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Lea.

Sarah, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
As an Animal Communicator and now brand Owner that was born out of my Animal Communication career, There’s no other way for me to explain how I came to be able to do what I do with animals besides simply saying I was born this way. I was born with an innate ability to understand and empathize with animals (and people) and the ability to understand what is going in, what others are experiencing without it being expressed in words. Coupled with 28 years of training, meditation and life experience that has extended my ability to communicate, feel and understand without verbal communication.

Through the work that I was doing in service of others, my career took on a life of its own and the next thing I know, I am being contacted by celebrities and people I would have never expected to hear from. I honestly believe that I was rewarded this way simply for accepting that my purpose here in terms of career is to be selfless to help others AND rewarded for accepting the path that is often filled with judgment and is way out of the norm.

Through my years working with people and animals from all walks of life, from animals that had severe PTSD to dogs on Xanax and Prozac, I started to use different modalities and tools to assist them. Through the success I was seeing with using ways to rewire trauma, coupled with adaptogens and CBD that I was using at the time, I started to see so much success that I chose to create a brand that would serve these people the best. This is where Heel was born. A Pet CBD brand Created to serve Pets and their people in a far more holistic, modern and sustainable way. A brand that recognizes that animals have psychology and are seen through the eyes of an animal communicator and not some Chad that’s looking to enter the 70bil Pet Space…

Heel is not only a tool I created to serve animals and their people but it has served me. Due to how “ethereal” my work ad an Animal Communicator is, I was needing something in physical form. At the time, I felt as though I needed to prove myself and having a physical product that showed the legitimacy of my work was a great way to do this;

Heel has monthly subscribers that have been investing in products for almost two years, with exponential growth (especially in the last six months). I can say that this brand has proved my theories and has definitely made me more confident and proud in talking about what I’ve known all along.

It’s been a beautiful, wild, interesting ride and now I’m in a place where I am so busy, every day is different and I can be fully in service of amazing, caring people and the animals that need us.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In terms of accepting myself and who I am in this world, hell no, it has not been a smooth road at all but in terms of a career flourishing, its been incredibly smooth and abundant and it sounds funny but it’s almost like God said “look, if you just face yourself and accept the gifts that we have given you, we will make sure that you are all good, but you have to have the courage to do that”… It took me a while but I think I am there.

What do I mean by this? Well, when someone says “so what do you do?” it’s not so easy for me to reply and say “I’m an accountant” and they immediately understand what that is. So when it does come up, I’ve often felt as though it was my duty to legitimize or explain the “realness” of Animal Communication, which, for someone who suffered from a fear of judgment, that was a very scary and draining task. I am also met with A LOT of pushback, I have been a victim to many people criticizing me in public or at social events and I have lost a lot of friends because of it. Being so good at a career that many don’t understand is, in my experience, a very heavy weight that I have chosen to carry.

It’s a very difficult thing to try and explain to people, but it’s like I have been living in two different worlds, My professional world where I get to help humans and animals, where they people are completely on the same page and I continuously get emails or messages from those thanking me for our sessions together, constantly receiving confirmation that this works is incredibly important for people… and then on the other hand, existing in the day to day world as just another human that almost feels that they have to hide, to avoid judgement, criticism or that people, even close to you, choose not to see you fully because they don’t understand.

This experience is also a lot about how I accept myself and choose to show up in the “normal” world, which has been very challenging. Now, I just allow the work to speak for itself and I accept that those that embrace me embrace me and those that don’t, don’t. (much easier said than done though)

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Heel?
Heel is an adaptogenic Pet CBD brand born out of the necessity for Holistic wellness for animals. Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Recently I hired an amazing woman and Coach Susan Moe, to assist me with business and How I perceive myself. As mentioned before, I was really struggling to show up fully and accept myself, regardless of my success due to the judgment I was receiving and having someone who specializes in this, with such life experience has been such a game changer for my career and how I feel in my own life. Since working with her, My earnings have tripled, My time has become more available and my mind has become more free.
