Falguni , we all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I once thought I knew exactly what I wanted to do with my life and I chose everything I could to make that dream a reality. Until one day it occurred to me that it wasn’t my dream at all. Yes a familiar story for many but I would say my greatest obstacle has always been myself. My inability to budge when it came to the ideas I had in my head around how I should be living my life. Once that was removed, my life changed …drastically. For the better.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am currently an executive producer with ViceTV and cover a range of docuseries to documentaries. I am overseeing shows ranging from crime to Most Expensivist with 2Chainz. I have been a writer/producer for almost 20 years now and truly haven’t looked back.

I have won multiple Emmys for my shows and would say one of the greatest shows I ever produced (in my opinion) is United Shades of America with Kamau Bell, an episode about Sikhs in America. It is the truest example of how I was able to use my platform to elevate and educate around my own community.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I have always chosen professions or roles where I need to publicly speak and I am terrified every single time I do it. There’s something about the sound of my own voice that still makes my knees tremble.
