Today we’d like to introduce you to Pam Rondini.
Hi Pam, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My lifelong career goal was to be an executive, and I made it happen. I worked in Corporate America for 18+ years and moved to California in 2005. However, I also wanted to be a mom, and being an executive was not conducive to having a family. We went through a lot to finally have my son and we wanted to adopt a baby, as well. While I was running ecommerce shops for the studios, we moved to Granada Hills to buy a house that we could someday fill with kids and I started Granada Hills Mamas. When COVID hit and my dad passed away, something in me shifted… my priorities? Losing a parent changes your world, and it made me step back to re-evaluate my life. I knew it was time for a change so I took the opportunity to finally start a business of my own.
I realized it was time to stop making money for other people and do it for myself. So I decided to get my real estate, health, and life insurance licenses with the state of California. It was hard to get a license with everything shut down during Covid, so I finally flew to Sacramento to take my exam. But before I left, we received another call. There was a newborn baby girl who needed a family. We went to visit her in the hospital and knew she was meant to be part of our family. So I traveled to Sacramento, passed the exam, flew home the next day, and we went to pick up the baby. The same week I got my real estate license, we were blessed with a baby. My husband Chris and I were over the moon!
A few days later I joined Keller Williams Calabasas. It’s a positive and empowering place for women, exactly the environment I needed and wanted. I have amazing team leaders and business partners, and I’m so thankful that I had wonderful clients and friends that I was honored to serve. My first year exceeded my expectations, even while having a newborn. My second year has been even better. I hit my financial goals, but better yet I was able to take off a few months to enjoy my family. Since then I’ve added a few team members to help my business grow long-term. I took on two mentees to pay-it-forward, I want to offer them a positive environment and an uplifting experience.
2023 will be a big year. I was asked to be part of the Agent Leadership Council at my brokerage, and I’m now part of the new Keller Williams Relocation Team. In addition, I was accepted as a member of the 2023 Equal Opportunity, Housing & Diversity Committee for the Southland Regional Association of Realtors. Locally, I still love my community so I run Granada Hills Mamas, The Buy Nothing Granada Hills Group, plus I help manage Clean Up Granada Hills Days. I coordinate community events for all of those groups, mom’s nights out, fundraisers, love supporting my local Mompreneur network, and still cherish being a soccer mom!
The rest is history, as they say! My family is happy, my business has been successful, I’ve hit all my goals, and I have the work life balance that everyone strives for. This year my family will be complete… as a family of FOUR. Adoption is LOVE!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it hasn’t been all a smooth road. First, I had a newborn and was going through the adoption process. That was a full-time job of its own. Plus, I love Real Estate… always have and I’ve thought about going into it a few different times in my life. However, I didn’t realize just how cutthroat Real Estate in Los Angeles can be, especially by other women. For me, that’s not how I do business, never have. Whenever I was dealing with the negativity and started to doubt, I’d look at my baby. I’m doing it for my family, no one else.
They are my “Why” so I want to provide for them, financially plan our retirement, and leave my kids a legacy to continue. That’s why I’m at Keller Williams Calabasas. It’s a trustworthy, positive, and empowering office where everyone (especially women) all uplift each other. We share, teach, and help one another succeed. That’s the environment I covet and need, it’s how I do business. That’s why I’m so excited for 2023, it’s a leadership team I want to be a part of!
