Today we’d like to introduce you to Kiara and Ferdinand Gomez Glad Bak.
Hi Kiara and Ferdinand, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Gomez Glad Bak represents both our full-service production company and our love story which began in New York City in 2017 when we met in acting school. 2 years later, we married and decided to keep each other’s last names – merging “Gomez” with “Glad Bak.” When we had to choose our company name in 2020, it all made sense. We see it as a miracle that in a couple of years we have come so far especially when considering that we started Gomez Glad Bak right before COVID closed down the world and so many small businesses.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a bumpy road with ups, downs, and in-betweens through a sad and tumultuous time of crisis in the world. But it has taught us things artistically, business-wise and inspired ideas we wouldn’t be without. It’s especially the challenges and what they have taught us that have strengthened the quality and level of our work today, and since we do literally everything ourselves from contracts, photography, creative direction, editing, social media, branding, etc., there is no room for error – no chain is stronger than its weakest link.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We are a full-service production company and specialize in timeless, stand-out visuals for artists and brands. We are a more “made-to-order production company” than a cookie-cutter production company since we try to raise the bar for every project, challenging ourselves technically and creatively rather than repeating ourselves. That way provide our clients with something truly unique and different each time. It all sounds pretty lofty, we know, but trying to combine art and marketing lights our fire and is often a pretty fun game full of compromises, problem-solving, and creative thinking.
