Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Andrade.
Hi Natalie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My husband David and I are the co-founders of our handcrafted candle business. We started out crafting candles for our homes and loved ones. It wasn’t long before we discovered that God had other plans for our newfound hobby. As Christians, we heeded His guidance and had the desire to share HOPE with the world through scripture… and so our story began.
My husband spent over a decade in prison, from the ages of 18-28. Upon his release eight years ago, he was determined to make the changes necessary to never have to return. By the grace of God, he has done that and more. He has dedicated his life to family and work and today stands with honor as a father, husband and son.
As for me, by the grace and love of Jesus, I have since been given a second chance. Seven years ago, I was rescued by His loving hands from a drug addiction that nearly took my life and freedom on numerous occasions. The consequences of my actions resulted in devastating losses, pain and destruction. Since then the Good Lord has restored my children and family back into my life and blessed me with a loving husband and family of my own.
Needless to say, we live every day in thankfulness to Jesus. In gratitude, the least we can do is share this HOPE, which we have found in Him, one candle and one home at a time.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
If I am honest, it has been a process with much growth. Learning to trust through the slow times and learning to endure some of the setbacks which come from trial and error as we are treading new ground in business. What’s most important though is moving forward and continuing to get the message of hope through Jesus Christ out. With each trial, our faith grows and we become stronger. One scripture which I hold fast to is; Zechariah 4:10 Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What sets us apart is our boldness to represent the message of Jesus Christ. Quality and integrity are important for us. We craft each product with love and pray over each receiver as a family. All of our products are recyclable or repurpose able.
What’s next?
I believe a new opportunity lies ahead. Opening up a coffee shop where we will be able to sell our products and make an environment that resembles just a pinch of heaven. As the Lord leads of course.
