Check Out Allie Mitchell’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Allie Mitchell.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My story begins in Round Rock, Texas—a town about 30 minutes away from Austin named after an underwhelming rock that’s not technically round. In middle school, I signed up for theatre because I thought it would be the easiest way to get my fine arts credit. Little did I know acting is what I’d choose to pursue as a career.

After graduating high school in 2017, I moved to Los Angeles to study Contemporary Musical Theatre + Film at Hussian College in Studio. During my time in college, got certified to teach yoga and joined VegOut Los Angeles as a staff writer—because did I mention I’m vegan?

In 2020, I graduated college and joined the original cast of Netflix’s Stranger Things Experience. For 9 months, I played a role as Eleven that required me to fly on a harness 12 to 15 times a night. It was quite the gig. Now, I am working on the crew of a TV show, writing and running social media for VegOut Magazine, and continuing to audition. You could say I’m in the prime of my “hustle” era.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Other than a crazy stalker neighbor I tried to get a restraining order against and several car issues, it has been a smooth road. I’m very lucky to have a supportive family and wonderful friend group. And I’m still on my dad’s health insurance which helps.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in acting, singing, dancing, and writing. But I’m no stranger to working behind the scenes as well. I am known for my attentiveness, promptness, and communication—all of which have gotten me very far in my career already. My drive and motivation to grow and succeed everyday are what I’m most proud of. And a few things that set me apart would be my skills in aerial silks, stage combat, and replying to emails, lol.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
During my senior year in high school, I auditioned for over 20 colleges for musical theatre. It was such a vulnerable, taxing process—especially at that age. It taught me a lot about rejection, comparing myself to others—and as cheesy as it sounds, “being myself.”
