Meet Kitty, Bill, Terry, Ed, and Mickey Kissell of All Pack Co in San Gabriel Valley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kitty, Bill, Terry, Ed, and Mickey Kissell.

Fifty years ago, Ed and LaVerne started their dream by creating a unique and very special company.

ALL-PACK-CO was born in the back of their garage in 1967. With Ed doing the sales and service on string tying machines, traveling throughout California, Arizona and Nevada, while LaVerne did the bookkeeping and answering of the phones. Laverne’s Father William Barleman “Pop” came out of retirement to run the warehouse in those early years.

Through the years a progress of success took them from the garage to a series of office and warehouse buildings. With the constant growth, Ed and LaVerne brought their children and others aboard as they grew old enough, Kitty and Bill started at the company and a few months later joining the team was Eddy and Kitty’s husband Rob Wicks, soon to accompany them was family friend John Underwood joining the APC Team (Family). As they continued to grow, Terry’s husband Craig Gleason joined us to take over for Laverne’s father “Pop” so he could truly retire, and Mickey began working in the office.

Ed and LaVerne’s big dream came true in 1985 when they built their own company building.

Ed loved the City of Covina so much, his loyalty is proven by maintaining all 50 years of business there, along with his long-time involvement in the City and Rotary Club. As years passed, Ed and LaVerne decided it was time to spend more time with their fifteen grandchildren, and Kitty and Bill took over the operations of the Company. Years seemed to blow by and it soon came time for Kitty and Bill to both retire in 2012, the responsibilities were then handed down to Eddy and Mickey. The youngest duo is still running the everyday operations of ALL-PACK-CO Inc. along with a terrific Staff of very friendly – dedicated Individuals of all who work at the “Family” of APC, no matter last names…. They are family, as set forth by the Founders. The most resent joining them in the company are fourth generation children; Mickey’s son Josh and Bill’s son Kenny.

Ed and LaVerne both passed away in early 2013, in their mid-eighties. They left their dream of a family company in good hands, and beginning to move forward for another 50 years.

The company continues to be progressive with finding new ways to provide the very best in packaging equipment and supplies. All-Pack-Co prides itself on providing their customers with the best technical sales & service and customer service help, along with a well-stocked warehouse ready for prompt delivery of equipment and packaging supplies.

Please tell us about All Pack Co.
All Pack Co. is a packaging machinery and supply company. We represent manufactures from all over the world. One reason we are celebrating 50 years in business, is that we do not specialize in one form of packaging. If there is a need for a product to be bagged, strapped, tied, shrink wrapped, boxed, sealed, printed, filled, bundled, stretch wrapped, taped, weighed, counted, bailed or compacted, you can be sure All-Pack-Co will have the machine that will fit your needs. Along with the machinery we also have a staff of service technicians that will insure your machine to continue running in top shape. We pride ourselves on the fact that we can provide and maintain most all your packaging needs.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I think we would all agree our biggest lessons learned were from watching, and helping our mom & dad. The boys spending countless hours with Dad learning the mechanics of the machinery and sales, while the girls becoming bookkeepers and customer service experts.

That is what has made ALL-PACK-CO a success.

We learned from the best parents and employers anyone could have!
