Today we’d like to introduce you to Charlotte Xia.
Hi Charlotte, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Charlotte Xia (Aka Ziwei Xia), I’m SAG-AFTRA Actress, Model, Artist, and Fashion Designer and I am also a member of the Los Angeles Local Young Performers Committee. This is the third time I have been interviewed by Voyage LA magazine and I am very honored. If you have read my two previous interviews, you will be very familiar with me.
2022 has been an incredible start for me, on February 19, 2022, my first son was born in Los Angeles and I became a single mom; on March 30 a gang of “robbers” stole my child, my child suffered their abuse and nearly died, my attorney, Sarah Venit helped me get my child back on June 29th.
Now my son is recovering well, but I will still sue them, I need society to give me justice! There is always a rainbow after the rain, and I thank God for being there for me, my son, and my family; I’m already filming the Netflix Movie Rebel Moon’ in August 2022 as a Day Player. This is my participation in the first film this year after I gave birth, my baby son also embarked on an acting career and participated in the audition and shooting of baby commercials.
Thank you to SAG-AFTRA, Netflix Production LLC, my lawyer, my all friends, my church organization, and all the people who helped my son and me, for being with you all the way to get me where I am now every step of the way.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This year from March 30th to June 29th, I went through an ordeal that I have never experienced in my life, it was full of absurdity and unbelievable, I have to say that fighting against the evil forces of this world is hard, it was like a war without gunpowder, but I still won every stage of the battle because I believe God will eventually defeat Satan.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Right now I’m still focused on my acting career, but I’m also starting to make a transition – I’ll be a private teacher soon. After my son was born, I have a new measure of my life and a different plan for the future. For the first half of my life, 35 years, what I am most proud of is not my acting career or my artistic career, but that I have finally become a mother, my son is my greatest pride, he brings me hope and happiness, he influences me every step of the way.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Yes, absolutely! First up is my family friend David Shirey, my church organization- Calvary Community Church, my besties Anna Sargsyan and Adam Lopatka, and my good friend Lily Tunnell. They were the ones who helped me through the toughest times for me and my son, and they were the ones who stood by my side through thick and thin. I am grateful for everything God has given me.
