Today we’d like to introduce you to Telli Swift.
Hi Telli, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I started modeling/pageantry when I was 3 years old and became the first bi-racial Little Miss Philippines. As an adult, I did reality TV (WAGS: ATL) where my (at the time) boyfriend proposed on our season finale. Prior to the show, I was in the medical field and realized I wanted to be my own boss and used my platform as a model to collaborate with a brand and generate 1 of 1 costume jackets which sold out in two months. Following that, I attended a WAGS Academy and realized there wasn’t an association for the women of Boxing, as there was for other sports (NFL & NBA).
This led me to create the Boxing WAGS Association, where the women of active and retired boxers can come together to support each other and their surrounding communities. I started with a breast cancer event, spina bifida for all of Deontay’s fights (our oldest daughter, Naieya, was born with spina bifida), autism, and just recently our first male-dominated golf event raising funds and awareness for prostate cancer. In the midst of all that, covid arose and I created masks for frontline workers. They weren’t cohesive with my outfits so I created 4-in-1 way masks which are sold currently at Neiman Marcus. I also have a gender-less fragrance called D’Telli, alongside Deontay, sold at dtellifragrances.com
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing worth it in life always goes as planned or as smoothly as you would like. With the mask, covid was going on and I was currently in Alabama getting fabric supplied from Los Angeles. It was prolonged due to covid arising and mailing issues during the pandemic.
With the jackets the issue was pricing, having to find an audience to fit the prices we thought the jackets were worth.
With the fragrance, the struggle was marketing a product that people can’t smell through pictures. Regardless of the battles with any business, I use it as motivation to continue to achieve the goal at hand. I always try to focus on the solution, not the problem.
As you know, we’re big fans of Telli Swift- Mask, D’Telli Fragrances, and the Boxing WAGs Association. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My masks were created in 10 different styles. Each one comes in a silk bag with a name card and has a personal story that relates to my life. The mask can be worn in 4 different ways and is reversible, as well as washable. D’Telli Fragrances was created to inspire a sense of luxury and love, for both him and her.
This unisex fragrance is intoxicating, rich, and luxurious. D`Telli is a complex blend that will mix with your skin’s own unique chemistry creating a slightly different version of the scent for everyone who wears it. D’Telli Opens up with a soft breeze of juicy Italian blood orange, mixed with (day-blooming) Royal Moroccan Jasmine and (night-blooming) Arabian Jasmine. This fragrance has 17 different notes and is oil-based. It was also named the 2022 best new fragrance by W magazine, as well as featured in Forbes.
Boxing WAGs Association is composed of talented and diverse wives and girlfriends of active and retired boxers. Our mission is to unite and empower our members to perform and support philanthropic initiatives that enhance the quality of life for families in our communities. We’ve helped raise funds and awareness for Breast Cancer, Spina Bifida, Prostate Cancer, Autism, and more. You can make donations at boxingwagsassociation.org
