Hi Anet, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started off with my interest and ambition to become a therapist because I have always been fascinated with human behavior and the science behind the mind. As I became a licensed Family and Marriage Therapist and began my clinical work, I saw that the business component was just as relevant. I pursued my MBA and learned the business part of the clinical world. Through this, I was able to cater to my community on a larger scale and provide individualized treatment through my private practice and treatment center.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a bumpy road, just as I expected. I believe working in the field of addiction has its many challenges. Establishing my name in such a small community, mostly dominated by men has probably been the biggest obstacle, as well as large establishments that treat patients like numbers.

In the current environment, we see far too many addiction facilities led by persons with little to no knowledge and background of the field. It is the utmost pride and joy I stand as the founder of North Treatment Center. As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I have dedicated my career to treating those affected by substance abuse and have the privilege to partake in the recovery of each individual. My passion has been coupled with the awareness of the need for quality care, that prompted the development of a clinically sound program. Our facility aims to model a structure of appropriate and ethical treatment for individuals and loved ones struggling with addiction. As a clinician, I take pride in providing the highest level of care while delivering a platform of knowledge, health and hope to grow and prosper. North Treatment Center strives to serve the families and loved ones struggling with addiction, who need the plan, the tools, and the support to end the cycle and restructure healthy connections.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Many people don’t know that I love to travel to unpopular countries and one of the most recent places has been North Korea. Happy to say I went there and got back in one piece! Due to my love for travel and curiosity of different cultures, I have decided to name each of the rooms that clients reside in after countries that I have visited in the past. It draws a beautiful connection to my own hobbies and allows clients in our care to expand their wishes and dreams.
