Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I grew up watching my mother’s catering company prepare elaborate events as far back as I can remember. Food has been a major component in my life which led me to become a seafood specialist, olive specialist and Italian food specialist. It is my guiding light that drove me into planning events for family and friends as a hobby at first, when by word of mouth, other people started contacting me for their special events. I now have over 25 years of experience in the food industry under my belt and I have been professionally planning events for over eight years.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Just like many Americans and people around the world, we were heavily impacted by Covid. My company, previously known as Cravate Soirée, lost many of our best employees, chefs, and event coordinators. However, we were able to transition and expand our services and formed a new company, Onyx Events Los Angeles. Our new entity brought new relationships with some of the best and highly respected members of the events planning community. We were able to transition to offering full-service planning of small events to large mega-events, along with à la carte services. The customer experience is our number one priority.

I am a firm believer in self-development, motivation, and looking to learn and better myself every day. For example, I went through a rigorous training program and received a Certificate of Negotiations from Harvard University. I believe in order to be successful in the events planning world, relationships are critical. With all my years of experience in this industry and traveling the world, I have a Rolodex of some of the best contacts and vendors in the events and entertainment space. I like to consider myself an artist and love working closely with my clients, so their vision is brought to life and making sure all their needs are met. My goal in every event is to always exceed expectations and bring the WOW factor.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Those closest to me always tell me that I’m the most positive person they have ever met. I’ve been told I have a good vibe or aura about me. I’ve always been very competitive. For me, second place is never an option. I’m a go-getter, I’m always the first one to arrive and the last one to leave and ready to help anyone in need. I value friendship and I feel blessed to have many to call friends.
