Conversations with Diamonte “D-Spank” Jones

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diamonte “D-Spank” Jones. Them and their team share their story with us below:

D-Spank started out at the age of 17 years old part of the “Jerkin” Movement in LA. Making dance videos at Palisades Charter High School during nutrition and lunch till graduating in 2009. After high school originally joined in the Camp of the Worldwide known dance group The Rangers, then a Forefront Member of the Action Figures, and later a Background Dancer for the Rej3ctz. From the years of 2010-2013 made music with viral hits such as “1-2” and “1-2 Remix”. During those years made brief appearances in music videos such as Cali Swag District’s “Teach Me How To Dougie”, Rej3ctz “Cat Daddy” & “Peta Grifin”, Compton AV “Call You A B*tch” Featuring Kurupt & Snoop Dogg, Compton AV “Run Me My Money”, Tyga “Make It Work”, Jidenna “Classic Man Remix” Featuring Kendrick Lamar, Soulja Boy “On Dat H*e”, Nick Cannon “Swimmin” Featuring Roscoe Dash & The Rangers, and countless more. Overtime got to be involved in movies such as “We The Party” Directed by Mario Van Peebles, “She Is Not My Sister” Directed by Kel Mitchell, “Battlefield America” Directed by Chris Stokes, “Ted 2” Directed By “Seth MacFarlane, “Straight Outta Compton” Directed by F. Gary Gray, “South Central Love” Directed by Christina Cooper, and recently “White Men Can’t Jump” Directed by Calmatic. To describe the journey was emotional and a lot of ups and downs but more drive and determination that not alot of people can understand or relate to. Now at 30 years old it’s more to the story that has yet to be written.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Definitely not a smooth road more of a roller coaster than anything. When I started making videos, all I had was a 2007 Dell Laptop and a Nikon Cool Pix Camera. Editing videos on Windows Movie Maker and later on using iMovie. Coming from a single-parent home I watched my mother work hard to provide for me with the help of my grandmother, uncles, aunts, cousins, and a neighborhood filled with friends and loved ones who would eventually become family. Through the years of me being active in the world of entertainment, I’ve had some issues with being surrounded by gang violence, passing of loved ones, and ups and downs of entrepreneurship.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I would consider myself a public figure I specialize in acting, dancing, location managing, creative directing, and content creator. I’m more known for dancing with me having three viral videos of dancing on social media which have been shared by TheShadeRoom, RevoltTV, YoungCalifornia, Power106, Worldstar, and Real 92.3. I’m most proud of my ability to overcome my setbacks and build a bigger comeback. What sets me apart from others is being able to not be afraid of being myself to be fearless of what others think and to remain organic and genuine.

How do you think about luck?
Good luck has played a major role in my life more than anything. So many times I’ve been low on funds or even had a mental setback on feeling like my time in entertainment may be over but somehow God blessed me with opportunities and second chances to rebuild.
