Meet Jess Tolon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jess Tolon.

Hi Jess, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Born to a beautiful single mother in Reno, Nevada. I attended over nine high schools in the United States.

In Canada, if you are a Native American, within the regulations of your tribe, you are able to attend College free of charge, so I moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, by myself at the age of 18 years old.

I ended up switching paths and focusing on my acting career; I became an executive assistant to Mr. Steven Seagal. I made my first feature film with Charlize Theron and made my way to Los Angeles.

I now own part of a Digital Marketing Agency located in Beverly Hills, and as of October 2021, I am a licensed Realtor with two transactions under my belt.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being raised by a single mother will always be a rough start. She had to work two jobs to support us. We lived in a one-bedroom apartment in Reno, Nevada until I was about thirteen years old. Going to college was never a discussion. And I thank her every day for our “struggles”.

Working hard, being kind, and maintaining our health were our survival. Struggles are inevitable; your attitude and resilience are built.

I won’t choose a smooth road; if I’m not challenged, I’m not growing.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I own and operate a Digital Marketing Company. We focus on SEO marketing and organically increase inbound lead generation for small companies. I don’t have a big family, so I treat my clients as family. Period.

I am known for my hospitality, competitiveness, and empathy.

I’m athletic; I play tennis, golf, track, basketball, and swimming. I do not give up. I probably work harder than I need to and refuse to change that.

The biggest accomplishment is the challenge of succeeding in a new country with no friends, family, or guidance.

Having the mentality of a warrior rather than a victim will forever make you feel accomplished.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I started very shy, but having to attend over 12 schools, you learn to overcome your shyness.

I was always very tall and skinny, as my parents were. Kids would make vomiting noises when I would walk down the hall because they thought there was no way she was that tall and skinny without an eating disorder.

BUT, I was athletic, competitive, and empathetic. No matter my upbringing, I was always a kind, genuine child.

A natural leader. At any school I left, the feedback was the same; the friend circle I built would never be the same and that will sit in my heart forever.

A true lover of animals, people, and progression. In that order 😛
