Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Morris.
Hi Michelle, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am a licensed massage therapist. I am the founder of Monrovia Prenatal Massage and I specialize in prenatal massage/hypnobirthing. I have been a Massage Therapist for over ten years and I still love it. I have a special place in my heart for new and expectant mothers. As a mother of two wonderful adult sons, I remember each pregnancy was very different and it would have been amazing to have a licensed professional massage me. I did not even know this was possible in 1996.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I love what I do and I am a great massage therapist. It took some time to decide whether I wanted to continue see clients in home or focus on building my business in Monrovia. The struggle was having to shut down everything during Covid 19. It gave me time to pivot and focus on the future of my business. I am happy to be doing what I love on a more personal level. My clients are amazing and this new chapter has really been rewarding. I won’t change a thing.
As you know, we’re big fans of Monrovia Prenatal Massage. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My services help new moms enjoy the journey. I offer lymphatic drainage massage which is considered my specialty. Before I opened my office, I worked with a plastic surgeon Dr. Kapoor in Beverly Hills, so what makes me special is my training. I learned noninvasive body contouring from him. He would refer his patients to me for lymphatic drainage. It’s really important to learn from the best. My Prenatal trainer was Carole Osborne. She has been working with prenatal clients for over 50 years. Your niche is what makes you special.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
I learned that when you have a network of amazing people even in a crisis, people will be looking for you and the services you offer. Sometimes a crisis can put you where you always needed to be.
