Today we’d like to introduce you to Gigi Peretz.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My love for home decor, greenery & rescuing animals comes from my family. Growing up, our home was always unique & full of vintage , eclectic pieces. My mom has a love for greenery and vintage decor as well as my brother who is a brilliant interior designer that sources from all over the world. Growing up, my mom and I would rescue any animal that was in need of help whether it was a dog, a cat, a bird, etc. If it needed a loving, safe home, we were happy to provide it.
During Covid, I started changing things in my home and began posting it on social media. So many of my friends wanted to know where I got certain pieces & greenery from and if I can make them the same arrangement, slowly but surely I had so many orders.
I started taking pictures of all my vintage finds and potted greenery in a garage that I still shoot at today and it genuinely grew from there.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
To be honest, I never knew where this was headed. It’s been a blessing to see how my tiny little passion grew into an eclectic showroom. I’m thankful for it all.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My work begins by selectively curating & sourcing from vendors all over the world.
I love to see, touch, and personally select each and every single piece I source. I’m drawn to vintage, old, worn & distressed pieces and regardless of its condition I have grown to see the value, warmth and beauty that these pieces bring to every home.
From sourcing these pieces I then build a shoot around it, stage it and post it on social media. I then display it in my showroom and once sold I often personally place it in my clients home.
I’m passionate about sourcing pieces from all over the world and I honestly fall in love with each piece I curate.
Being born and raised in Israel from a Moroccan & polish family background I’m also drawn to olive trees and Moroccan pottery.
My specialty has been beautiful arrangements of vintage pottery, potted with beautiful olive trees.
Olive trees represent love and peace and are normally gifted to a loved one.
I love mixing earthy textures, neutral tones and layering them.
You can warm up any space and home with one warm vintage piece.
It genuinely brings me joy to see my pieces that I personally hand select in a client’s home.
The main part of my job and business that I am most proud of has to be all the dogs that I’ve been able to rescue and help find forever homes for.
I’ve been rescuing animals since I was a little girl, always taking in strays and rescuing from shelters.
All of my dogs are rescue dogs and I knew I had to find a way to combine both of my passions, so with my business I found the perfect way to do that.
Every dog that I personally rescue or help rehome that is a part of a rescue I’ll plan a photoshoot around the dog / cat / bunny etc with current inventory and build the color palette around the coloring of their coat.
I do my best to show how adoptable and beautiful they are no matter how old they are and what they’ve been through.
Also a portion of each sale goes toward my efforts in rescuing animals in need. I have to say, this is defiantly what I’m most proud of.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My biggest supporter has been my brother Snir, who owns the most beautiful furniture showroom in Las Vegas called Ninush. He’s a brilliant Interior Designer that is self-made and has worked all over the United States and in Israel. He has been my biggest supporter and has always believed in me, whether it was when I was pursuing acting or interior design, he’s been there for me cheering me on and guiding me.
I’ve learned so much from watching him work to create beautiful spaces and homes.
He’s beyond talented and I’m lucky to have him as a mentor and as a best friend.
Alongside my brother’s support, I must acknowledge the loyal and wonderful clients I have that have become dear friends over time as well.
Another person that I owe a huge thank you to is my assistant Yesi who has been a huge help this year as my business continues to grow.
