Exploring Life & Business with Brenda Haro of Boss Babe Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brenda Haro.

Hi Brenda, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Growing up, my parents were a huge inspiration for me, both of which wore many hats. My dad a dishwasher turned entrepreneur, my mom a lover of fashion whom turned her sales associate position to a successful career in retail from Guess to Liz Claiborne Inc. So I always had that business mindset growing up and after high school, I attended California State Polytechnic University, Pomona majoring in Business Administration, emphasis in Management and Human Resources. While in college, I joined several organizations and worked as a hostess/server for El Torito, you can say I was a social butterfly and truly enjoyed being involved. When I graduated college, I went to work for corporate America. One year into working my corporate job, I decided this 8-5 office job was not for me. So in 2018 I decided to chase my passion in fashion and start an online store for women’s shoes. Later that year, I looked into several retail locations inside shopping malls in SoCal, they all required a minimum of three years prior lease history at the time which I clearly did not have. However, CIM Group’s Montclair Place Mall saw something in me, my idea, my vision and how passionate I was about Boss Babe that they gave me the opportunity to sign a lease and open up my first-ever retail location and now flagship store September of 2018.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. As I am sure most entrepreneurs can agree, the journey is a roller coaster. First year being the scariest and toughest. I invested all of my savings into Boss Babe and took out several credit card loans to purchase equipment, supplies, products and construction of the new retail space. I entered this new business with debt, but what kept me going even on the slowest days of that first year was my confidence in what we offered and the service we provided and continue to provide. We don’t only strive in bringing you the most trendy and cutest women’s shoes out in the market but we also strive in providing an excellent shopping experience.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Boss Babe Los Angeles is more than a retail company. We are a team dedicated to ensure every girl that walks out with a pair of shoes or clothing item feels beautiful and confident in what she is taking home and possibly wearing that night out. When you walk into Boss Babe, you will find a large selection of women’s shoes and an exclusive selection of clothing items with our fashion advisors ready to assist you in whatever you may be looking for and more than happy to give you styling tips. So you can say we specialize in providing an excellent shopping experience by exhibiting great customer service and having a large selection of trendy, cute and up to date styles in-store. That in itself and the fact that we are continuously studying the fashion industry and heavily involved with shoe designs/manufacturers is what sets us apart from others. Company-wise it still feels surreal that we now carry STEVE MADDEN at our flagship store!!! Growing up, I remember going to Nordstrom and Steve Madden being my favorite shoe designer always wanting to get a pair, now we are honored to carry his shoes at our store and we look forward to bringing in more brands God’s will.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
