Meet Darlene Ruiz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Darlene Ruiz.

Hi Darlene, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
How I got started in singing was at a young age, my dad got me my first microphone. By nine, I was writing poems everyday for my friends at school. I always love to write that was my escape from all my problems. It wasn’t until I met my husband when I was 21 did I start to write songs again. He believed in me when a lot of people around me didn’t. He is my main support and one of my biggest fans. I get to express myself and I get to write about what I’ve seen and been through.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Some of the struggles I’ve had along the way was losing both my parents at a young age. and just knowing if I was going to want something in life, it was up to me to go out and get it. I don’t have that strong family support to back me up.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a singer/songwriter. I love to write anything from songs to music and poems. I am most proud the fact of whatever problems come my way. I always try to see the better side of things. What sets me apart from everyone else is I’m a hustler and ambitious. I always try to get what I want in life.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I’m thoughtful and I’m outgoing; that’s is what helps me to succeed.
