Today we’d like to introduce you to Solace.
Hi Solace, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Music was very much in the background of my life up until college. I actually lettered in choir in high school, but still, it was just something I did as an elective. It hadn’t become a passion of mine yet. I wrote and recorded my first song in 2014 and called it “Ollie” because the guy playing the guitar was named Ollie. I used the mic on my Apple earphones. Horrible quality but it got the job done. When I got my first refund check, I bought an actual mic, my mom was not a happy camper, but the rest is really history! I’ve been in love with putting sounds and words together ever since.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s definitely been a challenging road. As far as creating goes, I’ve made all of my music alone up until last year 2020. Met my team (The Cafeteria Line) and have been working/creating with them since. They’ve made things much more easy and I’m grateful.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I sing, write, record and sometimes mix music. Most people that know of me know me for that. And I think I’m most proud just continuing. There’s a lot of reasons to quit. That’s why most people do, but I’m proud that I haven’t.
As far as what sets me apart? I think that’s a question for the consumers. They know why they like me. Meanwhile, I’m just being myself, I don’t really know how else to be, ya know?
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Ahh man. We didn’t have much growing up but my parents were resourceful. They bought a suburban so that we could travel and take family vacations because plane tickets were too high for five people. But there was an empty lot in our neighborhood and my mom would take me and siblings there to fly kites. Idk why but I vividly remember looking up while running with the kite. Blissful. Also, there was a park by our neighborhood and my dad would jog there while we followed on our bikes. I don’t know why, but those stick out to me most.
