Life & Work with Emi Morell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emi Morell.

Hi Emi, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Almost a decade ago, in Poland I hung a picture of the Hollywood Hills above my bed and I said: “One day I’ll be there!” No one really believed me. A few years later, I’m sipping coffee and watching the sunrise from the balcony of my apartment as usual. I looked at the view, stopped for a moment and realized that far in the back… here they were…those famous Hollywood hills and well… now I’m living my dream! I’m grateful that I can do what I love everyday and that everyday is a different creative adventure. Whether it’s photography, film or music, I feel that I’m free and can express myself fully.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I mean, of course not!! If it was easy, everyone would do it. Moving to a new continent completely by myself, not knowing anyone and barely speaking English was quite a challenge, but my drive and desire to follow my dream was so indisputably strong that I knew I could overcome anything. I am a hard worker at heart and not afraid to face any challenges to get where I want to be.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
When I create – I feel my heart beating faster, I feel alive. Either in front or behind the camera, I feel the thirst to create something new and incredible, work on new projects, collaborate with new artists and always give my 100%. I love exploring different forms of art. I’m a photographer, director, filmmaker and currently working on my new song! In photography, observation is the key. I get excited when I see something beautiful or something weird, unusual and interesting… I want to shoot it! What I love the most about photoshoots is that every person/object is different and there is always more room to explore and feed each other’s creative minds… Color red is my favorite – it adds so much danger and confidence to a picture. My mind is exploding with ideas for a photoshoot, film or a music video all the time. I just can’t wait to materialize all of them! What sets me apart from others is that I’m not in competition with anyone else other than myself. I trust in my timing, I want to work hard to be the best artist I can ever be and never stop creating! Let’s SHOOT! <3

How do you define success?
Success for me is knowing who you are, believing in yourself and boldly following your heart. The sum of all the little wins, moving forward every day, never giving up and becoming a better you.
