Check Out Daria Diache’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daria Diache.

Hi Daria, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was fortunate to know what I wanted to do since I was little. At least that’s what many people have told me. And yes, I consider myself very blessed. What they don’t know is that it’s not about knowing what you want, it’s about blindly doing.

I was ten years young living in Ukraine when, for the first time, I saw the movie THE MASK with the Great Jim Carrey and I knew right then that I wanted to be like him. I wanted to dress up and play for a living! Two years later, I booked a role in my community theater and my journey began. Classes, rehearsals, and dreaming about getting more roles all while researching. Oh yes… the research. Where are all the best and most respected actors? Where was the world’s leading theater and film industry? I never even considered being a small-town actor; I wanted to be Jim! Google said… HOLLYWOOD! And I said… EASY, I can be in Hollywood!

So here I am in LA almost ten years later, walking with my headshots and half an empty resume, knocking on every agent’s door, living the dream… ACCEPT… very differently than I pictured. I’ve encountered hundreds of NOs along the way and lots of “healthy” and conflicting criticism. So at some point, I told myself, “Maybe I’m not cut out for this.” Then I cry for a few days, avoid my career like the plague, procrastinate for a few months and eventually go back to my “RESEARCH”. I thought I was proactively working on my career.

Then a pattern formed. CRY, AVOID THE PLAGUE, PROCRASTINATE, and RESEARCH. Finally, I got tired of the pattern, took a step back and realized I was just afraid of the rejection that could come if I exposed my talents to the public.

That hit me hard. I was wrapped up with books and classes, knowing almost every casting director’s name in LA but not working on set or even submitting for auditions.

Now I’m truly living the dream… challenging myself every day to become who I chose to be when I was ten years old: Acting, auditioning, producing, and even directing.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
That answer would be a resounding… NO. It hasn’t been easy. In fact, if anyone is looking for an easy industry, they should look elsewhere. The film industry is a tough one where you will question yourself… even dislike yourself at times due to the barrage of rejection you receive. And when I say rejection, I don’t mean all of the times they tell you NOT TODAY or WE CAST SOMEONE ELSE. I mean the late nights, the early mornings, the side jobs to pay the bills, the side gigs to supplement for what the job doesn’t cover, not to mention the pressure.

All that said, I love it!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an actress but I am also a producer-director. I invest in myself by creating opportunities rather than waiting for others to hand them to me. Along the way, as I work my way up to the big screen, I’m learning a great deal and gathering connections so that one day, you’ll see me in the MARVEL Franchise.

How do you think about luck?
I don’t really believe in luck, good or bad. I’m also not one of those people who believe that everything goes according to my plan A. I’ve come to realize that in life at times, $h1t just happens and you learn to roll with it. Eventually, I believe that if you keep moving forward, your setbacks turn into your comebacks.
