Today we’d like to introduce you to Amrita Jhaveri.
Hi Amrita, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Before I moved to Los Angeles in 2018, I worked for competitive PR agencies for over ten years, producing events for major clients such as Nike, Air Canada, Blistex, ALDO and Amazon. Working alongside these clients set the foundation and stepping stone for where I am today.
During the pandemic, I was working with a small business as an Events Director and the events quickly got canceled. I started to feel unmotivated and undervalued. I knew I had maxed out my learning potential and hated the feeling of instability caused by COVID-19.
One day, I was scrolling online and saw a quote that stood out to me; “You either work hard to create your dream. Or, you will work hard to create someone else’s.” I instantly started digging deep and thinking about what I’ve always wanted to do. While the world paused, I took that time to pause as well. I knew it was time to rip off the bandage and pivot. I launched AMRITA events in early 2021. I now own a business and work with clients that are guided by my own values while fulfilling a dream that feels good from the inside.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Smooth roads are boring and I’ve always loved the thrill of bumpy roads. The jobs that gave me the ‘Sunday Scaries’ in the past are the ones that I’ve learned the most from. I love being challenged and definitely have had some struggles along the way. The biggest challenge has been moving from Toronto and ‘starting over’. I had worked so hard to build my network and was intimidated by the thought of if I was going to be good enough in the LA world. Once I started to settle in, I quickly realized that change is scary, but never growing is scarier. I used my growth mindset and go-getter attitude to tell myself that LA is the city of dreams and so many people move to LA to fulfill them. I was one of them.
We’ve been impressed with AMRITA Events, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At AMRITA Events, our main goal is to produce luxury events that create memorable experiences and unique environments. From the moment you and your guests walk through the door, we want them to feel like they are being taken through an interactive journey that feels exclusive, fun and authentic.
No matter the size or scope of your event, every detail is creatively composed to match your personality and bring your event to life. Our motto is – “Yes is our answer, what is your vision?”
In our first initial conservation, we want to get to know you and create a real relationship. Let us know what you are looking for and we’ll put together a personalized service package that is based on your needs and budget.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
What has worked for me is being fearless when approaching someone. Remember the person you are reaching out to is also human and once was in your position.
Before reaching out, do your homework! In your initial message, let the person know how you found them and what work they have done that has inspired you to reach out.
If you don’t hear back, follow up a week after reaching out (preferably in the morning, so your message is at the top of their inbox!) In your follow up, I’d suggest being accommodating as possible – let them know you are open to any form of communication that works best for them.
