Today we’d like to introduce you to Christine Pierce.
Christine, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
As a child, I was always aware of other energies, auras, and such. I was always having precognitive dreams, conversations with God (even in diapers), and knowing what was coming next if it was important. It was never a scary thing, just who I was. I was fortunate enough to have a mom that just let me be and discover who I was. I wasn’t much into my abilities as a teen. When I became a nurse, my gifts kind of rushed to the forefront. I was able to see when a patient was going to pass away before it happened, and able to help the spirit move on after death if it was a confusing situation for them. I found it to be such an honor to be a part of their experience.
I had always used energy to calm animals and people, but never really named it. I was using it as a nurse to calm my patients, and to improve wound care outcomes. When I heard of Reiki, I decided I should train in that to help people understand what I do. Over time, I became sick working with patients in the hospital. I had never realized as an empath I was “helping” others by taking on their illnesses.
I decided at that point to learn other alternative healing modalities because the treatments in Western Medicine were making me sicker and sicker. Energy work, diet changes, hypnosis, and EFT helped me get back on my feet literally, at a time where the best thing I could imagine was my bed.
I’ve been in business as a holistic practitioner in Energy Health, Hypnosis, and Spiritual Coaching since 2009. In that time, I’ve taught many people to embrace their own gifts and find their own passions. I’ve done a considerable amount of work with parents and children that are gifted in various extrasensory abilities. Parents are the key to keeping these kids feeling like they are normal, and can handle what they can see and hear. Today, I operate the retail store of Uriel’s Dream, and offer classes and services here, as well as host others that I find authentic in their teaching style.
Has it been a smooth road?
A smooth road? Mmmm, no. Usually the bumps were there to steer me in another direction when I wasn’t listening. As for Uriel’s Dream, well, I’m here. We’ll see how bumpy the road gets!
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Uriel’s Dream Metaphysical Shoppe story. Tell us more about the business.
Uriel’s Dream is a small metaphysical shoppe geared towards light, energy, and empowerment. Although there are some great items in the store, my goal is to make everyone that comes through feel welcomed, and walk out of here feeling good. I offer metaphysical tools, but I love to teach people how to move the energy and heal without the tools. The magic is in the magician, you know?
I’m best known for my energy practice. I do work with Reiki, but I am the creator of BioMorphic Energetics, and I work with various other energy modalities. I love to refer out to others as well. I don’t believe there is one practitioner for everyone.
I think that my store has a great vibe. And I work hard to make sure that if someone comes in to offer classes, readings, or healing sessions, they are on the same wavelength as me. I strive for authenticity and a genuine love for my work and for helping people become their best selves so that they can get to a point where my help isn’t needed, and they can do it for themselves.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
My greatest hope is that it goes more mainstream. My tag line is “Metaphysics in the mainstream”. I believe western medicine is important. But I think disease so often starts with the human spirit. That mind-body-spirit connection is of great importance. Inner peace doesn’t come from sitting in lotus pose and struggling to clear your mind to oblivion. It comes from facing your darkest self, and learning that all of you is ok. The good, the bad, and the ugly. It’s all ok and it’s all important. It’s what makes you who you are. If the mission behind my store was mainstream, we’d all be a lot more balanced, have a lot more healthy and open conversations, and be willing to see other people’s perspectives in any situation.
