Today we’d like to introduce you to Brenda Hernández Jaimes.
Hi Brenda, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
It all started with my podcast, Ellas. I amplify the empowering voices and stories of Latinas who are living their professional dreams, creating an impact in our communities through their work and opening the doors for the next generation. Since sharing our first conversation in March 2019, the work has always been to share these vital conversations of trailblazing Latinas. We’ve been inspiring our listeners of what is possible from these success stories of empowering Latina figures.
Fast forward to August 2021, Ellas Media is an audio media company dedicated to amplifying empowering Latina voices to motivate our communities and continue creating an impact. We’re growing our mission and expanding on the necessary work we’ve done in the past two years.
It’s been a life-changing journey of owning my voice and using my podcast manager experience to help more Latinas embrace their story to connect with their audience through their podcast and continue creating more impact on our communities.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, but I’m proud to have overcome the struggles that I faced in my journey. Last year during the lockdown, I was burned out, struggling with my mental health, and felt voiceless. In retrospect, these struggles helped me to place myself first. It pushed me to focus and work on the things that made me happy and a whole person. I went to therapy, leaned into my support system, and went all-in on starting Ellas Media.
Choosing to fill my cup with my passions has made my entrepreneurship road a wonderful learning experience. It empowered me to speak up and ask my support system for help. The struggles that I went through last year are reminders of what I can no longer accept in my life. It has empowered me to own my strengths and skills to help fellow Latinas speak up and be unapologetic about their voice.

I’ve always been about giving back to my community. It started by amplifying the vital conversations to inspire Latinas to continue paving their path. Now I’m guiding Latinas to amplify their empowering voices through their podcast, and 10% of all Ellas Media proceeds are donated to non-profit organizations that support Latinas in need.
We’re also working on launching our first webinar on how to launch your podcast. We’ll be sharing more details in the coming weeks, but I’m very excited to continue my work on empowering Latinas to amplify their voice, launch their podcast, and create an impact!
