Meet Julie Lee of Mori Leaf

Today we’d like to introduce you to Julie Lee.

Hi Julie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Mori Leaf is a tea company focused on one of the healthiest plants in the world, Moringa! After hearing devastating news about my dad’s cancer diagnosis, I discovered the amazing health benefits and anti-inflammatory properties that Moringa could provide my dad during his treatment. Soon my entire family was consuming moringa tea regularly, and I decided to share this amazing plant with the rest of the world by creating the first bottled moringa iced tea.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Because of Covid, there were constant issues with factory delays, shipping obstacles, and adversity in selling to retailers. There was a shortage of workers and massive delays in almost all areas of my business, and prices for raw goods went up in almost every sector. It’s been a roller coaster.

As you know, we’re big fans of Mori Leaf. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are the first to brew and bottle Moringa tea. We source our moringa tea leaves from India and bottle our tea in California. Moringa is one of the healthiest plants in the world, and the leaves are packed with nutrients, vitamins, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory compounds. We also sell tea bags so people can brew Moringa at home. We have six flavors of moringa bottled tea and seven blends for our moringa tea bags. Our tea is naturally caffeine-free and organic.

What’s next?
We hope to increase our distribution so there are more retailers for people to purchase our tea. We also look forward to doing more campaigns to educate people on the benefits of moringa. We are collaborating with Oyster Expedition and help sponsor their weekend hikes.
