Meet Yumaira Muro of Maya Muro Photography in Inland Empire

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yumaira Muro.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Yumaira. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My love for photography began because of my son, Ethan Noah. Capturing his smile, his precious little face and everything about him just made it so much more special to me when I took the photographs. I don’t know if you guys remember but Kmart use to have a photography studio, Olan MIlls, and that’s where I took him for his first portraits at 6 weeks old. I wasn’t a big fan of how impatient the staff seemed to be with babies and that is when I decided to start taking his pictures myself. I fell in love with capturing everything about him and for his first birthday I officially did my first real photoshoot in January of 2013. From there I began doing photoshoots for family& friends and I absolutely loved it. Then I began my Facebook page as well as my Instagram to display and show my work. Now I do everything from newborns, to cake smashes, family, maternity, engagements, weddings and all sorts of events as well. I love capturing people’s stories and creating these priceless memories that will last forever. Photographs in my opinion are truly PRICELESS! It’s my greatest pleasure to have returning clients especially when I take newborn photographs and then they come back to me for their 1st birthday shoots!!! Ahhh I just love seeing these babies grow up and planning their cakesmash sets is the funnest!!! I truly LOVE what I do! Work is not work when you love what you do.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Now the photography industry is very competitive like many other industries out there, so it truly hasn’t been the easiest road to grow my business and my clientele. There’s a lot of talented photographers out there tons! That’s why it is so important to differentiate yourself all you can. Your personality is what makes YOUR business unique! In this competitive industry, it’s truly important to have patience especially with babies and always make sure that your clients feel as comfortable as possible!! One of the biggest challenges for me has been balancing my full time hospital job, my photography business and being a mommy and wife. I eventually want to be a photographer full time and have more freedom and time to spend with my son, He is the love of my life and my priority above all. I think I do a pretty good job keeping my life balanced but at times it is truly challenging, however a great attitude and reasonable pricing is key to growing my business to where I want it to be.

Please tell us about Maya Muro Photography.
I truly love to do it all. I enjoying shooting all types of sessions. newborns, kids, maternity, engagement, weddings, everything! Each session is special and different in their own way. My husband is my greatest help and the most supportive person to me in this business. He has always cheered me on and felt very proud of my work. He encourages me always and pushes me to better myself anyway I can. He’s a great assistant to me and always keeps my clients smiling and laughing. One of our greatest priorities is getting our clients to feel comfortable and being able to capture their most natural smile. Clients tell me all the time how much they love our personalities and how comfortable we make them feel. I think that makes my business unique our personalities and great partnership!

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I think because I had a GREAT childhood and I was the only child until the age of 5 so I was pretty spoiled, but if I had to pick one favorite childhood memory it would probably be becoming a big sister to my little sister Vanessa. Although I loved being an only child and always getting spoiled, I use to pray every night for a little sister. I couldn’t wait to be a big sister and GOD finally answered my prayers. I became a big sister in August of 1993 and in September of 1996 I had a little brother, Hector. We may not always agree on things but I love them so so much and becoming a big sister is my greatest childhood memory.
