Meet Lupita Cabrera of Lupita Cabrera Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lupita Cabrera.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Lupita. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
When I was younger, I always loved taking pictures of my family. When I was in my early 20’s, I started going to a video production school, I learned how to edit videos and use a camera. During that time, I would take photos at family events and also went on to small events. From those small events, I started doing bigger events and would book clients from recommendations and we just grew from there to what we are now.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For the most part it has been a smooth ride, but there are some struggles. The biggest would be disciplining myself with editing since I work from home, I would sometimes get distracted with my dog or other things around the house. Another struggle would be when I’m editing a video and all of a sudden, the computer crashes and I lose all the work I’ve done for the day. I learned how to recover my projects when that happens.

Lupita Cabrera Photography – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Our business specializes in photography and videography for quinceaneras, weddings and special events. We are known for our quinceanera photos and video, I am the photographer and editor, and Joel is the videographer and editor as well. We have a new and fresh twist to the traditional photos and videos.

Our Pre-videos for quinces and sweet 16s set us apart from others. We put in a lot of time in the videos, they are like a short film we actually have the girls acting in the videos. We present the client with 3 different stories for them to choose from and we film the video like it’s a real movie, they are usually a 2 day shoot one day that is with the main girl and the second day is with her court. It’s a lot of fun to shoot the pre-videos, we have the parents and siblings get involved it’s funny to see them all interact with each other.

I’m most proud of how far we have gotten since we first started, from how our style has grown, to the packaging we give our clients when we deliver their photos and video, and even our YouTube channel has really grown.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment is when I hear from my clients after they see their photos and video and they tell me how much they love their photos and videos.
