Meet Roberta and Shawn King of The King’s Touch Video Production & Cinematographers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roberta and Shawn King.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Roberta and Shawn. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
We are a couple who have been married for 14 years. We both come from a corporate back ground but have always shared a passion for creativity through photography, writing and painting. Shawn and I discovered a love for film making and took several classes and then started working with independent film production companies in LA and Hollywood. Being community driven we became involved with local film festivals and community events. We found that the Entertainment industry was a little more self driven then what we wanted to identify with and decided to start out on our own in 2009. We took our love, creativity and expertise in film making and created the Kings Touch Video Production & Cinematography to bring a higher level but more affordable video production service to entrepreneurs and small businesses; especially those looking to elevate their brand or have their current brand stand out. Those businesses who traditionally could never afford the quality and experience. As a couple we are best friends, first who love what we do and enjoy working together. We try to bring that joy to our clients by making the whole production and filming process as stress free as possible. We try to bring their message, passion and story to life and give them a tool that helps them grow as a business/entrepreneur.

Being the creatives we are, we believe there isn’t a production too small or too big. We have filmed restaurants, breweries, photographers, florists, life events, business associations, corporations and much more. Our goal is to not only meet their need in video services but give them more than what they expected.

Has it been a smooth road?
The road has definitely not been smooth. Coming from a corporate back ground I think we take for granted the consistent paychecks, financially we had to make a lot of sacrifices and strengthen our marriage to ride the monetary highs and lows. Not having an emergency fund or paid vacation made way for a lot of stress and anxiety in the beginning. Wondering if we made the right choice for the kids….

Not having traditional days off, watching Saturdays and Holidays roll by like any other work day. 14 hour days and working through the night were common place for a while. I think I took for granted especially the discipline a 9 to 5 provides for its employees to be productive and successful in their job. I really never thought about that someone that had to put procedures and policies in place for a business to thrive. I remember being super excited to sleep in and set my own schedule…. after several failed contracts, missed deadlines and disastrous meetings, 9:00 really isn’t early at all when you’re the boss or self-employed….

So, as you know, we’re impressed with The King’s Touch Video Production & Cinematographers – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are a video production company. We create engaging videos that bring your brand to life.
