Life & Work with Natasha Trinidad

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natasha Trinidad.

Hi Natasha, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started as a child, encouraged by my big sister, mother, and family. Starting at five years old, I played the violin, moved on to learn the trumpet in 3rd grade, and participated in school band/choir all through elementary and middle school, even singing in some assemblies throughout high school. I started in the music and media industry, behind the scenes; working with cameras, video edits, etc., and following around everyone’s favorite artists and athletes. In turn, I eventually gained trust and built lifelong friendships with some of the most talented individuals in the music industry. Being around phenomenal artists such as Future, Young Thug, Wiz Kahlifa, Jeremih, etc., inspired me to get back into creating music. Their work ethic and finished products are unmatched and motivated me to chase my dreams. I researched, networked and asked a lot of questions just to get started. I worked in background, did extra work, modeling, music videos, touring, etc. Now I am a recording artist, songwriter, and actress.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing worth having comes easy, but that doesn’t make it hard; it’s always been worth it. I started in 2014 behind the scenes working for a director named HAK, interning, doing camera work while still getting my degree in Broadcasting media. By 2017 I was recording tracks and being featured as a model. In 2018 everything was amazing. I had opportunities to even work with and write for artists like Chris Brown, Omarion and so forth; with Grammy-nominated and amazingly talented songwriter Choyce Sincere. Tragically a friend of ours, who brought us together to work, took his life and in turn we never finished the placements. Following this tragedy, I fell ill, precancerous tissues, cysts in my ovaries, bleeding nonstop for months straight. At the time, I was pregnant and I ended up losing the baby while also losing almost 50 lbs; looking and feeling like death warmed over.

During this time, VeeDoe (who is an A&R and does management with YSL, working directly with the CEO, Young Thug) who is a long time friend of mine: we started in the industry around the same time and with the same group of ppl. When VeeDoe noticed I was sick, he reached out. Between him and Young Thug, they made it a point to make sure I had family, friends, a place to go and most importantly, that I felt just as loved as I make everyone around me feel even being so far from home and all alone in this big city! It wasn’t until then when I started to get healthy again. I wasn’t acting yet, nor was I creating music anymore, until they encouraged me to get back to it. 2019 was the rebuild,

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a singer, songwriter, rapper, model and actress. I’ve been on all types of tv shows, music video sets, etc. I am most proud of my work ethic because without it, none of these projects or any of this would even be possible. I took the background jobs, started from the bottom, didn’t take any handouts from anyone. Doing this all on my own, chasing my dreams and doing whatever it takes without giving up that’s what I’m most proud of.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I’m working on a joint project, plus a solo project coming up for music. I made union for acting so now I can go out for auditions. I’ve played bg in a lot of tv shows coming up as well.
