Today we’d like to introduce you to Johnny Allen.
Johnny, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Growing up people would often call me by my nickname “June” or “Junior”. Ever since I was about 6 to 7 years old I was highly influenced by music. I used to make little raps for fun with my friends. As I grew up though, life got a little more intense as it does for everybody. By the time I was in 10th grade, I had my little hustle going at school and would always play football and go to music class. By 12th grade, I lost a couple of friends and some people close to me as I did my whole life but it all started to sink in that the place I lived in wasn’t safe for me nor my family. Once I started getting serious about my music in 2020 after winning this contest with mustard people often told me I have a gravitational voice with my music. Finally after I started platforming my music and people seen the face behind the music they also started telling me I have a really structured face, body, and personality so I should model.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’ve put blood, sweat, and tears into everything I’ve done up until this point and even from here on. Even as an employee on a job, I’ve given 100% because at the end of the day that’s all we have to give. If you want to see your dreams become a reality you have to be prepared for the price that comes with those dreams and aspirations. Rip to the great nip Hussle
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I make music to be more specific I rap. I know how to engineer and dance as well. I’ve been very good at dancing since my youth and that’s always been around for music videos and artists etc. they need people who can choreograph and hit certain points to a rhythm. People know me for really having good energy, good advice, and good music but once people see me dance they often just say “I didn’t know you can really dance”. I’m really most proud of my supporters and all my friends who keep it solid with me 100% of the time. One of the most important things in family and even in la is trust. It’s a million things that sets me apart from everyone else I’m an inexplainable vibe as people in LA would say. I show love to everyone no discrimination whatsoever as long as you don’t punch me in the heart we good. A lot of people in la are stuck on this high horse of being superior and it’s not to blame them for it it’s just for being oppressed so long mental. They want to feel that sense of superiority but some remain humble.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
The first people I would have to thank personally is my immediate family. (Mom, dad, brothers, sisters) Secondly, I would have to thank my cousin Elijah I call him great gatsby and also my producer Pocket without him a lot of my good music wouldn’t be possible from his work to his criticism he’s the goat. I can’t forget about my boy Donavan people know him as Donnyloc. He’s been a real big influence and help with my music career.
