Today we’d like to introduce you to Joan Zodianz.
Joan, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started my small business April 15, 2016. I have always had a passion for visual messages, writing, astrology and tarot. I have been practicing this art for nearly 16 years.
It took me a while to get Zodianz started because I was unsure how successful I would become, but I’m so glad that I took that chance. I started off by creating a Facebook and Instagram page and organically grew a strong following (close to 60k in a year).
I have degrees in graphic design, marketing & PR – with years of marketing experience. So I already knew the importance of great content and even better marketing. However, I don’t just create content for myself. My audience understands that I do this for them as well.
Mixed with my passion for astrology and tarot, it only made more sense to take it upon myself and create a space to educate and enlighten people who have the same passions as I do.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It isn’t a smooth road. I’m a one-woman show, so it can get overwhelming. However, I’m so passionate about everything that I do that my soul doesn’t care to give up. It’s been tough building a business and learning how to maintain a profitable business, but Zodianz has only been around for a year, I have much to learn and expand upon.
I’m very blessed that I have so many wonderful fans who are patient and understanding. I know that they are walking with me as I take this new journey in my life, and I really couldn’t ask for me.
Zodianz – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Zodianz is the hub for all astrology and tarot. I specialize in astrological and psychic tarot readings, I write personal birth/natal charts and love compatibility reports, and I design and offer a plethora of fashion and apparel for all zodiac signs.
I’m most proud of all the work I’ve accomplished so far: from the website design to the content, to the clothing designs, and to the infamous memes people have come to know me for. I’m also starting to write my own e-books, just released my very first one today (All About Zodiac Sign: Cancer).
What sets me apart is that I write, design, and create everything. I really am a one-woman show. I’ve been really blessed to have all the skills to create a business without having to depend on other people (at least for now). I would like people to know and understand that I do this to educate people and to share a wealth of knowledge.
Also, I find that people need to read something new about their zodiac sign, that’s why I’m here. Enough with the copy and paste b.s. you can find anywhere online – I keep it real and I don’t hold back (good or bad).
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Well, I’ve only been around for a year. I’m sure my proudest moment will be when I can sell 1 million books. But as of right now, my proudest moment has been my loyal and patient followers. I call them friends and family because they’re all so positive and sweet on my page. I rarely get any negative people.
The relationships I’ve built with people and will build with people is the highest priority for me. Sure, I have marketing and design skills, but it’s part of the bigger picture. Without those skills, I would have never started any of this.
