Conversations with Omar Sebali

Today we’d like to introduce you to Omar Sebali.

Hi Omar, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I had always dreamed of becoming a Film/TV Actor but I slowly realized how hard it was to break into the industry without already having inside connections. I didn’t want to wait for someone to hire me because there was a chance I might be waiting forever. So I decided to start a YouTube channel where I posted videos of me playing horror games. My hope was that people would find me entertaining enough to stick around and subscribe. I was doing exactly what I wanted while also sharing my gaming passion with the world. Eventually, one of my videos went viral and people started subscribing to my channel. In just under two years, my channel hit 100,000 subscribers!  YouTube even honored me with an award for reaching this level, which was a huge honor. It was unreal to me.  I later moved to Los Angeles where I kept growing my YouTube and was closer to conventions. Companies wanted to work with me and sponsor my videos! Crazy! My channel now has over half a million subscribers and I couldn’t be more grateful to them. They’re like my second family and I’m going to keep working hard to make them happy!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It definitely wasn’t a smooth road! Thousands of gaming videos are uploaded to YouTube every single day, so it was incredibly hard to get noticed. I had to upload daily in hopes that one of my videos would get noticed by the gaming community.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a YouTube content creator and actor. I specialize mainly in horror/comedy gameplay videos. I am mostly proud of my community! I believe that my humor, personality and video editing skills set me apart from others.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Genuinely loving what I do and being there for my community no matter what.
