Today we’d like to introduce you to Kat Diamond.
Hi Kat, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
We started in 2015 in a cold kitchen with no direction, hahaha! I was on a tight budget and messing around in the kitchen, all whilst studying EVERYTHING on Pinterest. I read, researched and sprang into action. After all, my life included a whole husband, four children (including twins & 3 in diapers), two dogs, and two fish. I could not afford to go to the infamous place that sells $48 scrub, so mother made a concoction of her own. But it was not until I started to give out free samples and people started demanding I sell it….and then, Boom! Rosebud Organics was born, named after my beloved late grandmother Rose and my one and only daughter, AvaRose. All things that bud from the rose bush are beautiful and delicate. Therefore, we are an organic skincare and lifestyle company. We just celebrated our sixth year in business and looking forward to being around.
We offer total body care for men and women, including but not limited to body scrubs, body butter, body sprays, shower gels and washes, facial care, bar soaps, and more! Presently, we are only available online with prices ranging from $3 to $33. We incorporate the lifestyle for our clients as a total wellness brand, we create vibes, we build relationships, and we attempt to know our loyalists on a first-name basis. I do refer to the company as “we” but, I run the entire company solo, from creating, ordering, customer service, production, making content and information, labels, packing, shipping, you name it…it all me! But the loyalty of my clients makes it worthwhile…. for real! And with that, here we are.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I have started and owned several businesses from an incredibly young age and have since developed a core value of what it takes to operate a successful business and lifestyle balance. The biggest setback for me was making the decision to separate from my husband because now I had to figure out how and where I was going to work to make products because I was a home-based business, and in 2018 I did not know the fate of this company because I was homeless and crashing my parents living room…I felt like giving up! But God willing, I did not, I figured things out at the bottom, the lotus flower. So, of in the process, yes, I have faced great setbacks and greater motivators, one of which my greatest motivators are my children, who have pushed me in multiple directions of success including completing school and many reasons to start small businesses to build and leave legacies. These opportunities have created great positions for my well-being and all-around growth, both as an individual and as a business model, brand and owner.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a handmade, vegan, and organic company. We formulate products that are kosher grade, that are completely edible, although we do not recommend you do so, they are just that natural. Our mantra if you cannot eat it, why are you should not be using it. We specialize in skincare that influences lifestyle, feel good, look good, vibe good! We offer spiritual elements to incorporate into your lifestyle. We spread love and light to others in all forms. I am known for my Body Scrubs, Body Butters, Bath Bombs, inspirational influences and meditation sets; but we make everything including men’s products too! A mystical body baking gypsy, I like to think of myself. We make products for everybody and they come with a disclaimer on the labels that the contents are highly addictive promises. It is really body crack! The repetition of our clients, their loyalty, their feedback gives me great gratitude and looking back, I am glad I did not give up! I am proud of my progression and thankful for the process. We want the readers to know that we offer more than skincare, we offer lifestyle.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Cooking, baking mixing all things. For me cooking and baking are stress relievers, I like other things but watching the reaction to someone eating some delicious food is very satisfying to me. Lol, it gives me gratification, so I must be mindful to not cook for a living because I like it as a hobby.
