Hi Jonathan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Wonsulting started in 2019 with one mission: to turn underdogs into winners, helping those who come from non-target schools/non-traditional backgrounds to get into their dream careers. So far, we’ve impacted millions in their job search and have spoken at 190+ universities/organizations across seven different countries.
In 2019, Wonsulting started as just an idea; we were traveling to different universities and organizations to conduct workshops for students who wanted to land their dream jobs. In 2020, Jonathan Javier and Jerry Lee worked together to grow Wonsulting quickly, hosting events online with tens of thousands of attendees and hosting professionals/recruiters from dream companies including Google, Facebook, Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, and more. Our motivation comes from our backgrounds. Jonathan Javier comes from a non-target school but was able to break into his dream companies (Snapchat, Google, and Cisco) all by using LinkedIn. Jerry Lee comes from a first-generation, low-income household with 0 connections before landing into Google as his alma mater’s first intern and eventually going to Lucid.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Growing Wonsulting was never a smooth road as his any success; success is truly never linear. When COVID-19 hit, we thought it was the end of Wonsulting because we’d travel to different locations to conduct speaking engagements; however, it was only the beginning. We pivoted and started hosting online events with thousands of attendees which translated to many getting job/internship offers in their dream companies. We started delivering services ranging from Resume Revisions, Job Search Strategies, LinkedIn Strategies, and more which helped turn more underdogs into winners. We saw rejection as redirection and focused on the ONE yes rather than the no’s. By doing so, we grew our community to hundreds of thousands, reaching 375k+ on TikTok in 2 months with 30 Million views on content monthly.

What are your plans for the future?
Our plans for the future are to launch new programs to help more underdogs turn into winners. Wonsulting recently launched The20, a Wonsulting Company (https://www.wonsulting.com/the20), a cohort based job accelerator made up of 20 highly ambitious underdogs who are looking to break into their dream careers. We’re hoping this will be the future of recruiting and helping job-seekers land into their dream jobs! In the future, we’re looking to raise VC and capital funding to help scale our business. We hope that we can continue doing what we do and make an impact in the world even further!
