Meet Rosebud

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosebud.

Hi Rosebud, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started out in Hollywood at 18, moved here for college and studied Musical Theatre. There, I learned, I was truly meant to create my own music and be a songwriter. I had been in love with electronic music since I was a little girl, along with pop and r&b. When I first moved to Los Angeles I found myself always at the underground electronic music dance scene, I reinvented myself several times later, discovering with various genres only to find I had known who I was all along.

Through the years, I have been writing and I never hold back on trying out new genres, I love to discover new music from all over the world and recently Garage has stolen my heart. I love to make music that is emotional, about a real experience and a melody that makes you want to dance, even if it comes from an unhappy place, you might think that combo is strange but I think people love authentic emotion anytime even in their favorite dance track. I think discovering our truth on the dance floor is euphoric. Hard work and reflection have brought me here today, I never get sad about my writing experiences because I know someone has been through it too, its also therapeutic to feel free to share your experiences, but it took constant dedication, a lot of times I had to stay in and work on music instead of catch happy hour, I have no regrets, my goal is to be an international artist.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it has not been a smooth road at all, but the best decisions I ever made was to cut toxic people out of my life, work harder and start over. Real-life happens and it moves fast so I made my goals clear and always put the music first. A lot of the struggles are too heavy to discuss unless in a song, somehow it’s easier for me, my bad decisions and the tragedies that come in life have helped me stay strong and persistent to achieving my goals. A part of me has always felt it just comes with the territory of being a writer and I just feel lucky enough to be able to express it and it possibly help someone know that they are not alone.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I write songs, not only collaborations in Los Angeles but I also write a lot of music that is released all over the world, I am so fortunate enough to work with so many talented producers stemming from various styles of electronic music. I have worked with producers from Poland to Nigeria to Norway or even Japan! My writing style is a combination of a pop formula with r&b rhythms harmonies, I think it flows the most authentically in House music, but I can never keep one genre to myself, I am always creating. I am most proud of two things this year first would be my newest Sci-fi music video “In My Eyes” with Urbanite (Hot Dime Recordings/12 Inches Deep) directed by the amazing Victor Hernandez and the amount of new music I was able to release this year, 3 EPs total and various singles from all over the planet. I think what makes me unique is my variety of genres to choose from. All you gotta do is push shuffle!

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
All of the best songs I have written have flowed out of me naturally, the words and the emotions just all come together right when I first stepped up to the mic, when it’s perfect, and I mean lyrically perfect a lot of times, I will shed one tear after reading the lyrics to myself without the melody, like my heart is confirming its validity.
