Life & Work with Gabriel “Bonni3” Comfort

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriel “Bonni3” Comfort.

Hi Gabriel “Bonni3”, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started music when I was 19. I had actually dropped out of college and discontinued my basketball career to pursue this passion. I started out in a rap group with a male artist. We created our first single together and were pretty popular around certain areas. We lived the fast life. We went to clubs every week. We had FUN, but I wanted more than just getting drunk and going to clubs every night. That scene was not one I personally was comfortable with. I knew we needed to take our talent and be more professional and strategic with things. We fell off as a rap collaboration due to internal issues that we could not resolve. So I decided to keep going with my career solo. Around my early twenties, I knew that making money from music was very hard and almost impossible unless I establish my brand. I created my own business venture that would help me focus on music and create the funds I needed to keep creating. I began flipping services that other sellers offered such as blog placements, Soundcloud promotion, etc. anything that revolved around needs of an entrepreneur or musician. It was a hit. My name started traveling and I was able to create my own sole proprietorship called “Christian Nicole Promotions” and work full time from home. That had to have been one of my best ideas and trust me, it was hard..so hard I felt like quitting, but I didn’t. Now I still work from home doing my sole proprietorship and creating. Right now, I am focused solely on my single “Paralyzed” and getting that licensed for film.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all. When I started, I recorded at a studio I started out recording at I was exposed to shootouts and a lot of drug use from other artists… Being in that world, you just start to not feel safe anymore. After going solo, I had to really find my own sound and recreate myself and who I was as a person not who I was as a group. I had to find me. I also had to believe in myself. Any musician will tell you the lack of support gets to them. My family did not think I had a real job and that I was wasting my life following something I love. My challenge was loving myself enough to know I can be successful in whatever I put my focus into.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a natural creator. I love it. I rap, sing and I write songs. I am most proud of my work ethic. I am a very versatile artist. I can create any type of song and really cater to a person’s emotions.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Just contact me on Instagram. I am always willing to network with new like-minded individuals.
