Today we’d like to introduce you to Nichole Cross.
Hi Nichole, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Growing up, I always felt like I was the creative oddball. I come from a family that’s pretty stable in their career and enjoy working their 9-5 “corporate jobs” My mother and two sisters landed a permanent role in the federal government while my dad pursued his passion in driving trucks. Overall, my family was solid and always believed in progressing in all areas.
However, my story was a little different. Although I went to school and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, I soon discovered that I was not passionate about the IT industry. I will admit that it paid the bills however, it did not enlighten me or make me happy. I tried climbing the corporate ladder by working several government positions and contracted in many IT roles. THAT STILL WASN’T enough. Eventually, I felt that time was running out. So, I had to switch the game up and my mindset was my toughest opponent. As my mindset started to progress, I realized that I wanted more. God started surrounding me around certain individuals that helped me discover my “WHY”. He surrounded me around individuals that brought me to the realization that my “why” was beyond me (special thanks to my friend, Aaron Campbell.) I often struggled trying to figure out what that “why” was.
The first thing I did was: 1.) Detach myself from social media. I didn’t want society to get in my head while I was going through this massive mindset transition. I signed out of my IG and Facebook accounts until I was mentally strong enough to use both platforms without my thoughts being manipulated. I literally spent 2-3 hours STRAIGHT on social media, getting caught up in the irrelevant social media politics. 2.) I trashed what other people thought about me. If it wasn’t constructive criticism or positive acknowledgments, I threw it in the garbage. I must admit, this step was a little challenging for me because I genuinely enjoy being around people and love to converse with new people all the time until I realized that everyone doesn’t deserve me or my energy. I have learned that people are going to talk regardless, you can’t control that. Your only role is to “give them something to talk about” and I mean that in the most modest way. While stepping into this next phase of my life, I started building a stronger relationship with my inner self (my thoughts, my actions, my hurt, my temptations and more.)
From there, I knew that I was making a mental transition in my life, that mental transition caused me to become very uncomfortable and I DID NOT LIKE IT. I felt weird and out of place; almost like those “too small” jeans that every woman try to squeeze into after we know we have outgrown them. Lol Soon enough, I realized that I was mentally growing. As I became more in tune with growth and started learning more about it, I began to dig deeper. I involved myself with things that challenged me mentally and physically. I didn’t care about how uncomfortable it made me feel; I didn’t care about people dropping out of my life; I didn’t care about what I went through in the past. I just knew that I wanted change. The second thing I had to do was: 1. Read more 2. Jot down my long and short term goals 3. Listen to motivational audios and church sermons (Michael Todd is my favorite) 4. Pray more 5. Converse with people that were more knowledgeable about the mindset (special thanks to my brother, Ronald Kirkland) 6. Spend more time with myself, “Me Time”.
As I transitioned into this phase, I discovered so much about myself and others. I started to live my life on the edge a little more. No longer letting society impact my decisions AT ALL. I started drilling in on my long and short term goals. I knew that I was going to become successful, but I had no idea on how I was going to get there. I started several businesses, engaged in several events and relocated to a different state. Once I started to plant success seeds in my subconscious mind, they eventually started to grow. My success seeds has led me to become a successful investor in forex, stocks, crypto, real estate and more. It has also led me to become a big business owner.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being an entrepreneur definitely has its ups and downs. I often battled with myself on whether or not I should return to corporate. I actually DID return to corporate for a short period of time, but it did not work out for me. Sometimes you have to take one step back to move several steps ahead. In life, we get knocked down often, but your return makes you ten times stronger. I believe that most entrepreneurs have their withdraws however, that’s where your “why” steps in. If anyone has ever told you that entrepreneurship is easy, THEY LIED!!! Lol Being an entrepreneur has made me super emotional but tough at the same time. It’s not for everyone. Being an entrepreneur is not about being your own boss and telling people what to do.
Being an entrepreneur is about leading and teaching; helping others reach their highest potential; motivating them; building solid relationships; and most importantly, building a legacy. If you leave this earth today or tomorrow, what will people remember you as? I believe as an entrepreneur, your impact should be so STRONG that others are manifesting YOU or people with the same characteristics as YOU into their lives. I encourage my fellow entrepreneurs to NEVER STOP LEARNING. YOU WILL NEVER KNOW IT ALL. It’s okay to listen to others, and last but not least, TREAT EVERYONE WITH RESPECT!!!
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about The CEO Movement Investors?
A lot of people may know me as a Forex/Real Estate Investor and others may know me as the Founder of Luxore Dynasty Hair Collection. Both businesses are still active and running. Investing in Forex has funded my hair collection, my life, and I believe that it will fund my future. Forex caters to all people across the world. You don’t need prior knowledge to get started. We provide the education and mentorship to get you off to a strong start. I believe that investing is a skill that everyone should learn. Most people are not knowledgeable on how to become a successful investor. If I told you that the banks trade your money, would you be interested in learning how they do it? A lot of us spent many years in college learning about something that may not interest us later in life. I knew that something was wrong when I was required to take a physical education (P.E) course in college, and my major was Information Technology (I.T.) (Money just thrown away). Lol but, hey! you live and you learn. School is a business also. I no longer dwell on problems, I much rather focus on the solution. That’s one thing that sets me apart from others.
