Meet Shannon and Jesse Harvey of Sincerely Harveys in Orange County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shannon and Jesse Harvey.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Shannon and Jesse. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Jesse and I were lucky to get married at the beginning of this year. Being in our early 20’s, we didn’t have a huge budget to have an extravagant ceremony but it didn’t matter to us because we knew we wanted to design and fabricate our wedding to bring our unique vision to life. We were the backyard wedding before it was a thing. As an artist, it’s always been a little hard to find exactly what I want, and that’s where Jesse comes in as a woodworker with so much patience to get creative and get it right.

Our own wedding was our biggest project, and as it turns out, we love working together! We knew that we had a talent for creating spaces that facilitate intimate and beautiful moments. As lifelong collaborators, we decided that what that looked like for us is to start our wedding design company, Sincerely Harveys. And what better way to bring beauty into the world than to help people get married!

Has it been a smooth road?
All good things take a long time to get right. It will sound funny that we love to work together after you read this. But we do! And we don’t struggle that much, except for this one thing:

Our greatest foe has been sticking to a shared calendar. By nature, I am very organized, I do things efficiently, and I love to get things done IN ORDER. My husband, Jesse, is the opposite. He goes with the flow, is easily distracted, and will jump from project to project. There have been times when working on a wedding arch with a close deadline, I’d find him zoned out. When I asked him what’s going on, he told me he was trying to think of a time in the day to fix his surfboard.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Sincerely Harveys – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
We provide custom wedding arches and hand-painted signs that complement the beauty of every couple. A wedding requires a lot of work and coordination, so we keep it simple by providing set up and take down and with our keen eye and dedication, it is our mission to portray accurately the love in every wedding day.

What sets us apart is that we are intentional about our art. From the materials we use, to each illustration and painted letter, we take our time to create by hand, one-of-a-kind pieces for every couple.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The food. What’s better than the food in Orange County? And by the way, we like it all. We know that businesses are struggling so as best as we can, we try to support our local mom-and-pop stores.

I do wish that there was less distance between destinations so that walking and exploring the city became a more regular occurrence.
