So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Let me walk you through the story of 2oona Beatz and how everything started. Everything started when my sister and I went half on a desktop. The homie silent aka trek gave a hacked version of FL studio and watching him do beats off the software got me motivated to do the same. Started by just by playing the loop and add those drum patterns until I told myself that I should chop those samples which I knew others were doing but I was thinking flip the sample until it wasn’t recognizable. Work with some artists in LA that most was unreleased or most got lost on the desktop hard drive once it crashed. After that, I purchased the MPC Renaissance that I been creating magic and I have now released two beats tape, The Skipjack Beat tape Vol 1 and Your beats are better than your Vol 1. If you haven’t heard them there available on all streaming platforms. I got projects coming out in the future.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Road hasn’t been smooth but hasn’t been bad. From linking up with some people that were just taking advantage of others or not being serious about their craft. Which made it harder to pursue my vision as a full-time producer. While on the process I was working at foot locker part-time end up moving up to management position. Then I got the news of my first born and had to make a choice to either become the full-time producer I wanted to become or start looking for a different profession. End up getting certified as dental assistant and a license realtor but I continue to make beats and continue to perfect my craft. Which I now have boys and they are the reason I continue to pursue my vision.
2oona Beatz – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
What can I tell you about 2oona Beatz besides I enjoy doing beats. My availability to provide the sound that most mcs are looking for. What I’m proud of is to be able to work with some artist across the nation. What sets me apart is the way I work and the passion I have on making a beat.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment so far is Dropping the skipjack beat tape Vol.1 and my beats are better than your Vol.1. Also to be able to work with some dope artist. Be in the lookout cause cause I projects coming with the booze god aka Westcoast Mo, Young act and I’m also working on my compilation project looking to drop on 2021.
