I was a licensed General Building contractor in 2000’s and hurt my back building my house in Venice in 2000. As I could no longer play in the dirt and was that person all my contractor friends called with problems, (i.e., I read codes stay on top of Building and planning information) I went back to school- LA Trade Tech to learn to draw plans…A friend call with a problem (Order to Comply on violations on one of his homes) and asked if I could help…that was in 2002. …the beginnings…
Since then I have been making Illegal Additions Legal. I have the reputation of solving difficult problems. I file Variances, Modifications and expedite the mad process of negotiating the various building and planning departments in Southern California. With the New Assembly Bill passed by the State of CA, (our wonderful Gov. The Honorable Jerry Brown) Garage conversions are allowed under certain conditions and the telephone does not stop….
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Building Code changes every three years…. just when you think you know it…boom…revisions…
Clients who do not tell me where the bodies are buried…i.e., they piece meal the information…or they lie.
I don’t care what was done…just be truthful so I can help you…

We are working on increasing our ability to do more. We have at any given time 40-60 jobs in progress. That number can be more effective if we assembly line our process. Change is always difficult, but without it one stagnates.
