Meet Ziad Batal of TICDA Apparel in Downtown Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ziad Batal.

Ziad, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
The TICDA idea (Today I Can Do Anything) was started by my daughter (Ranya Batal) a few years ago with her simply printing a few shirts of her favorite slogan to give away to a few friends to motivate and inspire them at the restaurant she worked at. Something amazing happened shortly afterwards when her friends suggested that she should start selling these shirts because they loved the message behind this and that there was something special and empowering with the slogan. Fast forward to today with thousands of T shirts and wristbands sold and donating to many different causes, Ticda became a family business and attracted many celebrity believers such as Mark Wahlberg and touched the lives of thousands of people around the world. Our wristbands are in many schools across the country motivating and inspiring kids and their teachers, corporations are buying these wristbands to motivate their workforce, consumers from all walks of life have turned this into a positive movement.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Because the message of the brand appeals to all walks of life we have been strategizing on defining our market which has been challenging, TICDA is a Universal message so the sky is the limit with the positive slogan that means different things to different people…We learned that TICDA fits all people whether you’re a very successful business man or someone who needs to kick start their life. The best quote came from Tony Robins when he wore the Ticda wristband and said “I Need This” I asked but your Tony Robbins why do you need this, his reply was even the motivator needs motivation….

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Our company is proud of the testimonials that we constantly receive from our customers, it’s amazing the emotional connection that TICDA has with the consumer, I love the fact that our company is in the business of empowering and inspiration and my goal and job is to make people feel good about themselves. I spend most of my time talking to many people such as teachers, CEO’s of big companies, coaches about TICDA and how this brand empowers. What sets us apart is truly the emotional connection that people have with TICDA, you’re not just buying a T Shirt, your buying something that actually makes you feel great.

What were you like growing up?
I grew up in a very positive environment with both of my parents, I taught that to my kids to believe in themselves and my daughter at the age of 24 created an inspiring business, pays off to think positive in life…It follows you around.
