Today we’d like to introduce you to Shyria wright.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am where I am today because I overcame adversity. I was born in Los Angeles California and was raised there until I was 11. I was exposed to a lot of adult things as a child. I grew up in a two-parent household and had three siblings. We did not live in the best neighborhood, but it was home to us. I was exposed to dysfunction within my family centered around my parents’ marriage. I often witnessed heated arguments and domestic violence. I use to daydream a lot about the life I wanted and how I was going to make it big Going into my tween years we moved to the Inland Empire.
I lost my childhood at age 12. I was put into a parentification role that I did not fully escape until I was 24 years old. I became an angry teen because I was not allowed to have a childhood. I had to help raise my niece and little brother. I loved the bond I had me them, but I endured a lot of pressure and pain that I never got to express for years. My relationship with my mother went downhill the older I became until ultimately, there was no relationship. My life forever changed at the age of 15. I was arrested and read my rights my sophomore year for a fight I participated in. I felt my life was over, but I knew I wasn’t a bad person, just heading down the wrong path. Fast forward, this incident prompted my parents to get me back into church fast and that’s where my purpose was discovered and activated.
I was able to connect and relate to other girls because of my experiences and at the age of 19, I became a youth leader in church, which led to me starting a mentor group for teen girls. From there, it went from teens to young ladies to women. From that, I continue to have a ministry and now business. My ultimate goal is to educate, equip and inspire women and young ladies to heal and discover their purpose.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been a smooth road, but a great adventure. I have been able to work with mothers and daughters, establish a broader support base and new clients. From the business structure perspective, I learned a lot through trial and error, which turned into learning lessons. I had to learn social media from a business perspective, put systems in place to help me measure my business, learn my true audience, get over the fear of going live on social media and building a business on my own.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I specialize in educating, equipping and empowering women and young ladies to heal their pain and discover their purpose. I teach various self-help tools to truly heal emotional scars and how to use their past to discover and fuel their purpose. This is done through workshops, live events, mentoring and life coaching sessions.
I am known for speaking my truth and motivating others to discover and or walk in their purpose. I am most proud of my business being versatile and welcoming. I love being personable, transparent and a support system for my clients. There stories are my stories and I want them to experience being healed, happy and whole. I am proud of my business because it has encouraged others to start their own business while working on overcoming their personal obstacles.
What sets me apart from others is, there’s only one me. I am well aware there are many businesses like mine, but I am confident in the clients that have been specifically designed for me. Confidence, understanding timing and creating relationships with my potential clients and colleagues sets me apart from the others. My focus this season in my business is putting systems in place to stay connected to clients in a seamless way and sharing my story. Most people want to know if your products or services work. Me sharing my life is proof that working the steps, methods, attending workshops and being open to the process, works. Yes, I also have testimonials from past and current clients that speak to this as well. I am on this side of my journey because I was open to change, I wanted more out of life and was willing to do the work. I no longer just wanted to exist, I wanted to live in my purpose and you can too.
God. He met me at my worst and produced greatness. I am thankful He chose me. My 2nd grade teacher. I told her what I wanted to be and immediately she believed in me and helped me get started. My 6th-grade teacher, Ms. Goodenough, she allowed me to share my frustration within my home and supported me. If she was not there, I am not sure how I would have made it through that moment in time. That taught me to listen to others without judgment and to help support the best way I could. My youth leader who pushed me in ministry and business. She taught me how to lead youth, work in ministry and how to monetize in the market place and ministry. My spouse for being supportive and understanding my long nights, which turns into early mornings. My clients that have shared with others how my services have helped them and promoted me or my business.
