Meet the Husband & Wife team of Reyes Productions Green Screen Photo Booths in San Gabriel Valley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joy Reyes.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
We are a family-owned business. A long time ago…. well, not too long ago, when we started having kids (currently holding at 4!), we decided that one of us would work and the other would stay home to raise the children. We have sacrificed a lot to make sure our kids have a parent around. So, when the time came that we needed to bring in a little more income, we partnered with the DJ Company my husband was working for to create something special.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I won’t say it was completely smooth, but I will say we were really lucky to have some people who believed in us and what we were doing. We had some mentors that advised us and gave us the connections we needed to get started. When we were first designing our business, we wanted to open a balloon decorating business and then add on the photo booth later. But, we received some really good advice to start with the photo booth, and we have never looked back!

Please tell us about Reyes Productions Green Screen Photo Booths.
We do green screen photo booths. We have a 10-foot wide open air booth. We designed it to be more like a photography studio, with all the professional equipment, lighting, personal attention, and even a live photographer. But… with all the fun of a photo booth: props, scrapbooking, etc. You can choose to take a serious family photo, or you can be slaying a dragon with your friends! You can even be kissing while wrapped up in clouds! Guests come back again and again to try out all the different settings.

What I am most proud of is the personal attention we give each photo shoot. We take our time designing each photo for the guests, to make it an experience they will never forget! I remember a time that a guest wanted her photo to look like she holding onto a rail in the background. We had to take the photo a couple times and I went in and used my software to wrap her hand around it, but we did it! I always remember those moments when we put an extra effort in to make a guest happy.

What sets us apart is definitely the quality of our photos. All the guests get a 4×6 print, not a strip, with a personalized event emblem, and a customized background. We do scrapbooks, booth videos, airbrushing, and much more! But, above all, I really believe our live service is what sets us apart.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I probably would have learned how to advertise smarter….. I guess I still need to learn that!
