Today we’d like to introduce you to Susana Yee.
Susana, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My 2 business partners and I – Natalie Fritz and Karen Sun worked in other parts of the fashion industry before we came together to create Sweat NSK. I worked in digital marketing for various fashion clients, Natalie had her own lingerie company called Underglam, and Karen had a children’s retail store Crib in Beverly Hills.
The 3 of us were interested in healthy living and working out and found that while we were meeting for healthy juices, meals, and workouts all over Los Angeles, we could not find a great store that carried all our favorite fashion brands for workouts in one place.
Has it been a smooth road?
Everything takes hard work. In the beginning only certain brands would sell their product to us until they saw that people were really responding to our store that only carried activewear. We had to convince some well-known lines that our store would bring a clientele that had a passion for working out and fashion. Overall, we have been very lucky and things have gone pretty well.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
We are a curated luxury activewear company that carries over 35 different brands. We sell only workout related products that people can either use at home, in the gym, or wear. We have now been in business for almost 2 years and we are proud of the fact that we have become a fixture in our community and we do events locally that give back to the community and have built a following nationally as well online. People come to us to find the newest styles in activewear and like what we have curated for them.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I think a big city like Los Angeles is a great place to build a business. There are so many different neighborhoods and everyone wants to be healthy. Our business is all about health and wellness and Los Angeles is the perfect place to start a health and wellness company.
