Meet Qiana Miles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Qiana Miles.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Qiana. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started singing in the church choir at three years old. I went to a performing arts middle and high school singing for different functions, numerous talent shows, and competitions. I started writing and recording music in high school which really ignited my dreams of becoming an R&B artist. After graduating college and moving to Orlando, FL for grad school, I began to work full time at Disney World as a performer. Still, I desired to have a name for myself outside of the theme park so I began to start back writing and recording original music.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No smooth road at all! The industry is so full of unknowns be it theater or mainstream. Also, constantly building up confidence to not compare myself with what’s trending for the week, or concerning myself with the negative possibilities. As an independent artist, you have to look at every angle and its outcome to better strategize and brand yourself. However, I’m enjoying the journey of building my own path and lane of creativity that speaks my truth, expresses my joy and hopefully, it’ll inspire my listeners to do the same.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
So I am an upcoming independent vocalist. I have a classically trained background with church roots and a passion for all things R&B/Neo Soul. I love to sing music that really makes you feel every lyric and place you into a memory once you hear it. I’m known for performing at Walt Disney World in Festival of The Lion King at Animal Kingdom, leading praise and worship at my church, session singing and gigging around the city. I began to really gain some listeners once my video was posted onto the “TheyHaveTheRange” page on Instagram. From there, I’ve been posting videos and providing live content for people to enjoy!

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Authenticity. Being Qiana Miles to the core. There’s nobody in the world like me; God created me for a special purpose and work and the only way I can succeed in that is by being myself. In doing so, authenticity will naturally bring the success I crave because I’m operating how I am supposed to by being who I am. And for me, that’s the most rewarding thing; to always be me in whatever I do and whatever I sing.
