Meet Peyote

Today we’d like to introduce you to Peyote.

Peyote, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Started playing classical piano as a kid, well, forced by my mom lol but that got me to where I am now. Later on, I grew out my hair, picked up the guitar and started a band. This was all up until I moved LA to go to school for marketing. After that rap music and making beats took over me. Kanye and Dre were always my inspirations going into it.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been five years since I started producing music. It surely has some radical ups and downs but this makes us the artist we eventually turn into. So many different emotions involved in this game but the best thing to do is to feed all that to your art. Luckily I’ve been shown signs of my future success so I’m still on the way up.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
My business would be my production company. I’ve been fortunate enough to delve into different genres from rock music to jazz to hip-hop and more. This helps me stand out and more importantly stand the test of time. When I first got with Trippie Redd he told me what we were making was timeless and always has to be. That stuck with me for life. Also, playing the guitar and piano gives me an advantage when making music so that I’m not limited to just one thing. I’m a producer and songwriter but also engineer.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory from childhood, hmm that’s a hard one lol. I’d have to say when I went to my first Coachella Fest in 2007. I’ll never forget that.
