Today we’d like to introduce you to Gianna Adams.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was born in Las Vegas to two entertainers. My mom was a dancer and choreographer, and my dad was a producer and performer which threw me into my love for the business immediately. I started writing songs at five years old and did my first feature film at seven. Soon after that, I joined a hip hop crew at eight which I was on for seven years, and thanks to one of my friends on my crew, I ended tagging along with her to audition for my first theater show at eight as the role of Annie in Annie! As the years have passed, I continued to dance and went to a theater high school where I did many other shows including Annie again, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Footloose & Aida. I then graduated high school as a junior and moved to LA with my bestfriend to try and continue pursuing my dreams while studying at Berklee College of Music online. I’ve been working on my songwriting and had a song on hold for Celine Dion’s album last fall, and was under consideration for the 2019 Grammy Awards as a songwriter. In the last year, I’ve written on 4 top 10 billboard albums, 10 top ten iTunes singles of which 5 were number one and received my first gold record!
Has it been a smooth road?
With every goal and dream comes its own set of challenges and struggles so of course there’s been a fair share along the way. One of the biggest challenges for me has been being told I have to “choose one path” between singing, songwriting, acting, and dance. My whole life I have loved and worked towards all of these things and the idea of only doing one has truly never been an option for me. It’s been challenging to navigate and make time for all of them as opposed to just one and defy the odds and outside opinions but the extra work and efforts are 1000% worth it to me.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am an actress, songwriter, singer and dancer. Most people mainly focus on one thing/path while I am actively pursuing and working towards all four of these which I feel helps to set me apart from others and stand out.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
LA is such a recognizable city known and loved for being a staple in the entertainment industry. I think it a great place for me to be because it allows me to be in the center of the action and is the location of mass opportunities, connections, and where everything I’d love to do happens. Of course, it’s a huge step to be here if you’re just starting out, but I think it’s all about what you want, how badly you want it, and what feels right to you!
